Astonishingly nice pen for the price.
First Jinhao pen I bought. Was skeptical and hesitant. Delighted with purchase. Pen looks nice, writes beautifully. It's thin. If you want a heavy, thicker pen, get a Jinhao 159 (an homage to/knockoff of the Montblanc 149; but the Montblanc is $940 and the Jinhao is about $12--so assuming the Montblanc is indeed better, is it 88x better? Not for me, because I'd drop it or lose it, and can think of other things I'd rather do with $940, and the Jinhao writes superbly--smooth flow--for my purposes. This thinner Jinhao 200 is good if you like a more slender writing instrument. I love the brown, rust and gold tones. The black on mine seems . . . to me out of place. But overall a superb value that performs so much better than I expected. Pic shows the Jinhao 200 between two black Jinhao 159s, and next to a common Pilot pen for size comparisions.

Fantastic fountain pen for every day use.
I enjoy writing with this pen. It has made my work a bit more enjoyable, even though I write like an over caffiinated three year old. No offense three year olds. Very nice for the money. Well worth it.

Nice Pen
A nicely made pen from Jinhao that is one of my favorites. Most important, it has good ink flow and the nib writes smoothly. It looks nice and feels good in the hand. Unlike many of my other Jinhao pens, this one is a lightweight. It is suitable for beginners and even old pros will appreciate it.

Good quality and very attractive
Acrylic seems very high quality. It's on the small side so it's light too. Nib is very smooth and ink flow is consistent

Good pen
Cheap and tacky gift box aside, the pen is easy to fill with ink and writes wonderfully.

Great Pen for reasonable price
If you are starting out with fountain pens or know about them but do not want to spend a ton of money, this is a great pen.The fine nib is a full fine, so do not expect a spider web thin line. The nib is smooth. Yes, it is steel but remember you write only on the very tip of the nib and if the tipping material is smooth and aligned then you have a smooth writer. There is not much bounce to the nib so there won't be line variation. It is a little like writing with a ballpoint, but I suspect for most people that is not a problem. This pen takes cartridges or can be used with the converter. If you are not sure about how to use the converter with ink (or how to use it to clean the pen) check out Youtube by typing in something like "How to use a fountain pen converter."This is an inexpensive pen, so if you leave it standing in a cup with the nib pointing up, the ink will drain back into the cartridge or converter. This means that it will take a moment to start up and may hesitate, especially if the pen has been sitting for sometime. If you leave the pen sitting for some time, it may be hard to start, but this is not unusual, especially for inexpensive pens. If this will drive you nuts, try leaving the pen flat on the desk. I actually leave mine in a leather pen holder with the nib end pointing down on the desk. I have not had any ink flow into the cap, though if it did you could just rinse it out.Clip is stiff and I have no idea how servicable it is in the long run. I doubt a broken clip could be fixed, so go easy on it if you decide to use it.The material is not transparent (at least the color I got) and so you can not see the inside converter or feed. The nib will pull out and can be replaced very cheaply. Again, see Youtube if you want to try doing this. I am thinking the nib for this is the same steel nib used on other small Jinhaos. The nib and feed pull out easily, and if you wreck the nib you can easily get replacements on ebay by typing in "replacement nib for Jinhao 200."Since the nib comes out pretty easily, this is also a nice, inexpensive way to learn to pull apart a pen! Again, check out a Youtube video if you have questions. Not all nibs and feeds pull out so you want to know that is how your pen operates before you start yanking. You can order extra nibs if you want to change nib size. Just check to make sure the nibs you order will fit the Jinhao 200. Likely the nibs used for the Jinhao 992 would fit. The nib used for the Jinhao 100 WILL NOT FIT. The nib used for the Jinhao 200 is, I believe, a number 5 nib. The number five nib is smaller than the number six nib used on the Jinhao 100. I recommend if you like the pen that you get some extra nibs and play around with them, but that is a personal decision. The only $13 pen I personally like more is the Pilot Metro and Metropolitan line. They are not as flashy looking but the XF nib is really smooth and produces a really thin line. But hey, this is a great pen for what it is. use it and enjoy it. Take it apart and fiddle with it. Carry it to work and you won't have to cry if you lose it, the way I did when my wife took my hundred dollar Parker Duofold pencil to work and lost it. :(Please Note: The section, which is the part of the pen you hold onto when you write, is metal. For some people, this feels a little cold and a tiny bit slippery. I do prefer a plastic section, but I do not find the metal section to be a problem. YMMV.Life is short. Enjoy this pen.

Eye catching design and very smooth writing
This is my first fountain pen and I adore it so much that I came back and purchased a second one so that I can have one for work and home. It is very easy to fill, just unscrew the body of the pen to separate out the converter, dip the nib in the ink pot, and twist the black end of the converter to draw the ink up into the barrel. You may have to steep the pen deeply in the ink and fill/ empty it a few times to fill it completely. Type of ink is also important - this pen works best with more watery inks. I tried just plain Pelikan 4001 Bottled Ink and have not had any issues, but the nib clogged when I tried to use a fancy irridescent ink (rookie mistake). This is an amazing pen for a beginner on a budget who is just trying to figure out what works well.
