The only lather bowl you'll ever need.
I bought this around the same time I bought a very nice resin bowl (GF smile) with interior ridges, nice dimensions and a brush rest. It's nice. I used it for a few shaves, while this one just sat there, waiting for me to decide if I wanted to use it to load, lather, or collect dust.I decided to try it out as a lather bowl, as I use natural brushes almost exclusively, and decided it was probably more gentle on my brushes. It is. Plus, it's a great size. Depth and diameter are perfect. I have brushes from 125mm down to around 90mm, and all of them reach the bottom without getting into the handle. Even my Vulfix black badger with a 43mm loft has no issues.I still use the fancy bowl for my one synthetic out of eight brushes. This one is just simple, but well designed with perfect dimensions. Fits in my (larger sized) palm perfectly. I simply like it better. I like the real feeling of stainless over resin.I don't heat my bowl, but I suspect this would be great for that, as it's nice and thick. If you're questioning it because of the price, don't. It's just a good value. Buy it. Buy two, in case someone steals the first one.The one negative that you might find, if you're using it to load/store soap, the lid doesn't lock in. It just sits on top. As a lather bowl, I don't see this as an issue. I would have preferred a locking lid, though.I would definitely recommend it as a loading bowl, but I would highly recommend it as a lather bowl. I wish I hadn't bought the other one. This is the only lather bowl you'll ever need.

Great soap bowl
I wouldn't use this for a lathering bowl, as there are no ridges or other textures on the bottom of the bowl to help build lather. But it is a soap bowl par excellence! I was able to fir over 200 gms of soap in here. Why put up with those a ugly plastic containers your shaving soap comes in? Just transfer it into here. Beautiful, unbreakable, compact, and reasonably priced. The double wall insulation feature is perhaps overkill, but it doesn't take away from the utility of the piece, either. I'm very pleased and will probably buy more to replace the ceramic soap bowls i have.

The bowl is a good size. top on when unused so it does not get dusty or contaminated.
This is a pretty good depth and good size bowl. I just leave a puck in there with the lid on.This stays in my guest bathroom where I occasionally have to get ready in the morning when our main bathroom is being used, so I’m glad to have a nice frothing bowl with a lid which keeps the pock from getting dusty or contaminated during the weeks I’m not using it. The quality is nice too, It looks good. I can tell it’s double walled as my hand does not get hot when warm or hot water is placed in the bowl blooming.

Larger Than Expected
Very nice large bowl is larger than I expected, but pleased it's not undersized; looks well made. Hope the chrome finish lasts as this matches the rest of my DE shaving gear. Lid fits fine, easy on and off; it's just not snug enough to be leakproof. Recommend.ETA: minus another star for having a small ding on both the bowl and lid that I didn't initially see. Considering the item's original plastic bag and box were not sealed, this could well have been someone else's return.

Almost perfect
Seeing the review beforehand, I was concerned about the quality and usefulness of the shaving bowl.As picture, I purchased the black finish. It's sturdy, well crafted, and fits the average shaving bar well. One issue I read was that the lod does not secure onto the bowl. Although the lid doesn't snap, there is a nice seal where it will not just "pop" off.I haven't used this bowl for traveling but if you place a couple pieces of tape on the lid to secure it to the bowl, I'm sure it'll be fine. The one thing I think it's lacking is either grooves at the base if the bowl or a rubber O-ring to secure the shave soap from moving around. I do get a good lather, however it's a nuisance to have the bar slide around while lathering.Update: the black finish has been peeling off and most of the inner part of the bowl is now chrome. I've also found flakes of paint in my shaving cream. The bowl itself is good, however, save yourself some time and purchase the chrome without the matte black finish.

Large enough to hold any shave soap
This bowl is great for my shave soap. I did not want to limit myself to only buying shave soap refills from the company that sold me the wooden bowl with their refill. They stopped making the scent I liked, so I needed more flexibility and this shave soap container works well.

Rusts
The reviews about rust are true and it started almost immediately with my bowl. See photo. Minor now but annoying and it will probably grow.
