Q: Can I wear this on my elbow?

Maybe, but I would not buy them for that purpose. Much better products made for the elbow. These are stretchy but a tight fit.

Q: What is the other 85% that it is made from? I see 12% spandex and 3% nylon.

The other 85% is made of cotton.

Q: I'm looking for a band that will fit just above my wrist to protect my Fitbit watch from sweat running down my arm. Will these work?

I have been wearing the bands for just that. It prevents sweat on the wrist perfectly. Without them I would be getting blistered by the watch.

They are tight with slight compression but nothing unbearable. I find them to be quite comfortable, and I can only assume that the elasticity will get more and more loose as I wear them.
