Tells me what I need to know
The heart rate monitor was a great addition to my Garmin 530 Edge. It interfaces reliably to my bike mount 530 or when the 530 is carried in a pack. The sensor belt is easily adjustable (set it once and leave it), comfortable, and the sensor provides a wealth of information on my work outs to the 530. I've used other mobile recording sensors and this one is solid with no known drop outs or faulty measurements and on my rides or work outs needs no physical adjustment. That's a big plus not to have it slide out of position and interrupt your work out.A good solid product. Works better than expected.

My favorite Garmin HRM model.
I have the HRM run, and the other dual sport and regular heart rate monitors from Garmin. Not to mention some other brands. My HRM run lasted about two years before it stopped working. (Sad tines).Based on reviews I opted for this model and so far it's my favorite heart rate monitor I have used. Super comfortable, more durable than the HRM run, and it stores data so you don't have to carry your phone or even the watch if you don't want to.Plus it works in the pool, or in the water while swimming.

Easily the best chest strap heart rate monitor that Garmin has made.
Having used these things for many years, and experienced pretty much all the difficulties that people have run into with them, this chest strap works best. Besides doing all the normal sports such as running, biking, and skiing, it also does swimming quite well, just so long as it is covered - flowing water between strap and chest messes up the measurements. Being a retired guy, my heart rate pattern is not the easiest to measure, which did cause some grief with prior versions of chest straps. And it really doesn't record high intensity well with wrist-based optical readers, but this version works very well.

works great
I have a Garmin Fenix 5 Plus, use it every day. Absolutely love it. I bought this HRM because while doing certain workouts the wrist HRM basically doesn't work. (fun fact if you swing your arms like you were running the wrist HRM can pick up your active HRM much better)So I do lots of mixed workouts, Crossfit, rowing, swimming, running, sprints, weights, MTB. So far this HRM is able to record all my data perfectly. Across all of those activities. So if you like training and love getting good data, buy this!Foot note I have had it for about 3 months and already had to change the HRM battery. I used it about 4-10 hours a week. I think the battery is supposed to last longer than that but o well. Changed it out and was good as new.

Fantastic product all around!
The heart rate monitor works perfectly in all environments! The strap is comfortable and doesn’t rub or cause chaffing. Additionally, the strap is easy to clean and maintain.

Solid HR monitor
I am a novice triathlete and my garmin fenix 3hr wasn’t giving accurate HR readings. I am primarily training in zone 2 with some higher HR intervals so it is really important to keep my eye on my HR. This monitor works great. The frustration of inaccurate HR is gone. It pairs easily with Garmin Connect App and watch. Cleaning and maintenance is easy. I’ve been using at least 45 mins everyday since October and battery still seems fine.

Comfy... Edit: After 6 months it has died!!!!
Make sure when you put it on it's snug because if it's not it acts wonky. Love the strap. Comfortable and the metal hook that normally digs into my side with other straps is not an issue with this strap. Look forward to getting the swim strapEdit: so I changed my battery for the first time (5mos of use) and after reading many other comments I've encountered the same frustrating problem. About a month after changing battery my HRM started acting weird and wasn't constantly tracking my HR. 2 days ago I noticed my watch wasn't picking up my chest strap at all, same thing happened again yesterday. I took my chest strap apart to check the battery and there was a bunch moisture and corrosion around the battery!!! I followed battery changing instructions to the T! Now, only after 6 months of use, I have a $90+ piece of junk! Angry is NOT the word. My cheap/basic $70 Polar F7 chest strap NEVER did this. If I'm going to have to replace my chest strap every time my battery dies then this watch isn't worth having. I can go back to my much more affordable Polar F7 watch!
