Q: how long does each tablet burn?

Takes about 5 minutes to reach a point of full glow. Probably 15 minutes of actual incense burning time. Be sure not to overload the charcoal with incense. You don’t want to smother it. Use incense sparingly for best results.

Q: Is saltpeter an ingredient in these charcoals?

No ingredients listed on the box or wrapper. Once lit, the charcoal does spark, characteristic of saltpeter.

Q: Can you resue the charcoal if you don't want it to be ignited for long?

The ignition system is a one-time use only. Once it has self ignited, it will not ignite itself again. Hope that helps!
