I used this product for a Sony TV RS-232 connection. I cut off the RJ45 plug and soldered on a 3.5mm TRS plug. I have a long Cat6 ethernet wire already in place and this worked great.

If you are asking between the modem and wall, then no. You need a telephone extension. If you are talking between modem and computer, then yes.

There is no software involved.. so PnP is not an issue. It is simply and "extension cord". If you can plug an ethernet cable into your radio... you can plug it into this pigtail... and plug the pigtail into your radio.
