Pokémon make a number of products aimed at learning how to play Pokémon the Card Game ( also referred to as simply TCG). This is a ‘1 Pokéball’ pack ( as seen by the single Pokémon ball on the front bottom left of the pack), meaning it’s designed for someone just learning how to play the game, as opposed to a serious player, or someone just collecting the cards. In TCG there are 2 players, each having a full deck of 60 cards. This box contains two full decks of 60, so for two players. Each set consists firstly of one key character card , Amphoros Ex, Lucario Ex, Chien Pao Ex or Mewtwo Ex and Melmetal Ex in this case, depending on the deck pack bought. (These single feature cards are special promo cards, highly collectible, and collectors do buy these packs, remove that single card, and sell the rest of the pack on, so do take care of that featured card). It’s great to have two sets in this pack, so can play straight away. In each pack there are a mix of other character cards, plus some energy cards (you can’t make any moves without energy) and some supporter cards, that get you out of a jam or speed things up. There will be several of some cards, as you start play with only 7 cards at first, the rest being in the deck etc. For this reason someone just collecting the cards will find duplicates. It’s also not ideal for someone playing competitively as the cards inside don’t have enough of the more recent, or high level cards (they would be better off with a Battle League pack, which is a 3 Pokéball pack so for more advanced players - and of course is more expensive). This is because competitive players need multiple copies of recent and expensive cards, hence why you will see negative reviews about these more basic packs. However for most fairly new players this is a great starting point. There is a good range of cards in each pack, you can play straight away, they are great value compared to single card packs, and you can use them as a basis to learn how to customise your own deck as you go along. I’ve bought 6 now (three for me!) and have found them all excellent value.PS If never played TCG before then I’d recommend the Pokémon Academy - also on Amazon - that talks you through the game, step by step, and includes a playing board and three starter decks, then following on with these battle packs.

The description sounds like this is really good value for money. 120 common cards in cardboard "deck boxes" worth nothing with not a single decent card and most of them aren't even Pokemon Go cards. The 5 extra foil cards are a lie as well its actually 3 of one and 2 of another and they're just supporter cards. The two cards on the front of the box are the only decent things about this box and they're not worth the price tag

The product was perfect as an Xmas give for my cousin and myself. Two good starter decks for a good price. Made for a fun party pastime!

Interesante el juego. La verdad que creí que sería difícil de aprender. Todo super fácil y el par de decks para jugar en rondas con amigos.

Ein Glück kann ich Englisch, ist zwar erkennbar, dass dieses Set englisch ist, aber übersieht man ganz schnellDennochKarten sind in einem super Zustand, Verpackung 0 beschädigt, kein Reseal. Bin glücklich über dieses Set. Kauf kann ich empfehlen
