These are terrific for making notes on a textbook you intend to sell after.Just a tip, not all types of pen work on the surface. It is still plastic after all. Markers work best, but if you intend on making notes and turning a page over top of it in a hurry you have to wait for the ink to dry OR use a fast drying permanent marker. Or you could just test your whole pen collection on the surface and see which sticks to your liking.

As a student in the humanities, these are an essential. I can place them in textbooks to write in notes without ever leaving a mark and affecting the textbook's resale value. They are also fantastic for laying over diagrams and adding in notes.I deducted one star ONLY because using highlighters on them smudges the ink. They are definitely more "plasticky' than 'papery' but when using only pen, they are perfect!Great value for the cost as well!

Looks like they would be great for annotating books which is exactly why I got them, the only thing that is slightly disappointing is quite a few different pens smudge, that being said the one that I found to work the best is a regular ballpoint pen, it didn’t smudge at all!

I was somewhat worried about ordering transparent sticky notes because I wasn't sure how well they would write, if the adhesive would damage the ink in the book, and if they would be "frosty" or not. Included is the picture showing how well they work. Ballpoint pens definitely worked the best with Sharpie as a close second. It's almost impossible to even see the edges when it's stuck to the page. And the adhesive doesn't seem like it will lift any ink or damage the paper - obviously that could change with time but it's got kind of a "smooth" adhesive if that makes sense so I'm fairly sure it will be okay. Overall a great buy.

They are great however you can really only write on when with sharpie and the part of the sticky note that adheres to the page is to smooth to write on at all even with a sharpie it completely smudges
