Very Impressed for The Price!
The media could not be loaded. Update 1/15/2025: I upgraded two of the static cameras with the PTZ on my driveway. I like that you can setup the “follow me” feature. However, it does come at a cost of clarity. You will see what I mean in the video. Otherwise, I like that they follow someone allowing more detailed as to where they are going (I.e. car, etc…) if you ever need to use it. Where as the static cameras you only get what you see. Additionally, you can manual control the movement of the camera through the app or NVR. Otherwise, once you set them up, you can forget them and let them do their thing. I also, like you can setup a default location (home) to return each time they follow something. So far they have only followed people and some animals, no cars seem to activate the AI detection.I purchased the OOSSXX 6TB hard Drive 8 camera "2-Way Audio 5.5MP 2 Antend Outdoor Security Wireless Camera System WiFi Video Surveillance" system. This was an upgrade from my Blink cameras, which I have had for many, many years.PROS:- Image quality is a vast improvement.- 24/7 continuous recording.- No subscription, but to be fair I did not have one with Blink either, I was grandfathered into their legacy system. Just know there is also a paid subscription you get as an add-on for a nominal yearly fee as a backup.- Up to 10 Cameras can be paired to the NVR.- The cameras do not use your existing WiFi to connect to the NVR for each camera, they are on their own channel directly to the NVR. However, you will need WiFi or directly connect to your router in order to access the cameras via the smartphone app (Eseecloud).- AI detection for alerts (if you choose to use).- I added a PTZ camera, and the "follow me" feature is amazing. Now I am contemplating replacing two or three more of the cameras to the PTZ ones.- Installation and setup were fairly easy. I say that because all the cameras in the package system are already setup (paired) to the NVR, you just need to install them.- Nighttime options, you can select for each camera if you want to use IR, Black & White only, Color, or auto. Depending on where your camera is located and the amount of light around it will depend on the choice you make, just test them all out.- Cameras seem solid, well builtCONS:- Image quality at night could be better since daytime is great.- NVR software is a bit clunky to use, not user friendly.- Smartphone app (Eseecloud) is a slow load, but once in it works great. Additionally, they keep trying to get you to purchase the cloud backup when trying to review past video footage (only the smart app does this).- Depending on your distance, wall, window, etc... from the camera to the NVR, the single could be weak, and the camera will go offline at times. Adjusting the antennas at the camera and NVR can help alleviate this issue, but not a slam dunk.- Adding additional cameras must be directly connected to the NVR initially via the ethernet cable in order for it to pair to the camera, then you can disconnect the ethernet cable and install the camera.- Downloading footage from the NVR, honestly, I have not tried, so I am not sure how difficult it would be. However, from the Smartphone app (Eseecloud) is a nightmare. It only allows downloads in 1-hour chunks, which takes a long time to download. Once it is downloaded you can go to your Photos app and edit the video length to what you only need. I think this is by design to get you to purchase the cloud backup, my guess is they make reviewing your footage simpler and probably could download a specific section (this is just a guess only).- You may need longer screws for mounting, especially on stucco.Bottomline:If you want good resolution, 24/7 recording, no subscription, and mostly wire free (it needs power for each camera), then this is a great budget friendly home surveillance system. For me the worst thing is the downloading your footage, and even that is not that bad.NOTE: I installed all the cameras myself, I am not super handy when it comes to home repair stuff...I know enough to be very dangerous. I was able to install all the cameras, which included some drilling through my garage wall to feed the power cable through (two cameras), mounting was a breeze, all by myself. You must have a power source for each camera within 10 feet.

Reliable system for many years
This is my second purchase of an OOSSSX camera system. I was doing a lot of work on the house in the process. The system might already been using for about seven years was damaged and so I needed to replace because of how happy I was with the previous system. I ordered the more recent version, this version has higher resolution and even better How much stronger range. With the previous system, I needed to have repeaters and I get dropouts. With this system, I no longer need those and the range is exceptional. I really like the night vision and the ease of use with the DVR. I’ve always enjoyed online access from anywhere and being able to look back quickly on events that may have occurred. I do recommend you use the IP pro application and that some of the other others that suggest maybe you need a subscription or ads. I also own a second system by Reolink at another location that system also has some interesting features, but has proven less reliable than the OOSSxx system. At the time I purchased this I also purchased a PTZ camera that should be working with the system. The pan and tilt work fine however, for some reason, the zoom seems unable to function with the overall system. For my purpose, it’s OK.Overall, give the system five stars after years and years of reliable service in this newer system definitely gives me better coverage and everything I’m looking for

Great value.
System was easy to install as cameras are already programmed to the dvr. The only difficulty I had was substituting solar cameras bought later for ones in the system. It has a maximum of 10 cameras and we needed 12. The reprogramming of the system was a bit challenging because of poor instructions. However, an email to the manufacturer was delightfully helpful with fast response time. Mission accomplished. As an aside , the solar cameras need a full day of strong sun or they go dead before the next day. The app is very user friendly. If there was a way to expand it to more than 10 cameras I would love it. Very happy now.

DO NOT BUY!!!Awful interface updates, designed to make you spend more
IVE HAD ENOUGH, TRYING TO FIND WHEN I WALK OUT A GATE 15 MINUTES AGO IS TAKING ME HALF AN HOUR. ANYTIME YOU CHANGE CAMERAS, BUY OUR STORAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE THIS THING AND THE DEVICE IS SLOW ON TOP OF IT ALL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK! It's more of a buy our monthly cloud storage than a security camera system. Anytime you want to review footage it auto reverts to the cloud storage and asks for money/sign up image instead of going directly to the local storage. And if you are in local storage backed up at a time and want a different angle, then change cameras, it again asks you to get cloud storage and you reselect the local and refind the time you were at. UNBELIEVABLY INCONVENIENT. Then while looking through video, if you move the selector back even one second, it auto moves back around 16 seconds. If you pick any exact time, it always scrolls back about 16 seconds. This is very annoying. There seems to be no actual way to turn on or if it is on, differentiate when the cameras have detected motion. The entire review bar of all cameras is the same color meaning either no movement ever or non stop. Theres no way to have the cameras stay on HD playback, and it needs to be selected everytime. If you are speaking via a camera and attempt to change cameras, instead of auto hanging up and changing the camera, it tells you you must hang up first. As if the swipe over couldn't just do that. The storage is good and they were easy to install and get good signal strength. There are many short comings in the app, especially in the lack of worthwhile settings. The "advanced settings" in each camera is literally signal strength. Theres no option at all. There are so many of these systems now, finding one with a good interface is probably the real difference maker, and the changes this one has gone through with the app, make it eliminated from contention if I was buying today.
