Well made, great ombre dizi sound, VERY attractive.
Love this. Really nice. Great ombre dizi sound. Well decorated, very pretty. Lot's of fun watching C-dramas & figuring out how this flute makes those wild ominous sounds.Tho the glue is good, the hole membrane that comes with this is crap. Sounds good for about 10 min. then sounds tinny. Tho I did buy the professional Ming Dui membranes, haven't tried then yet. While waiting for delivery, tried blue plumbers pipe thread/wrap tape from HD. Pipe thread tape only sticks to itself so doesn't damage the dizi. Regular white pipe tape too thin. Heavier blue pipe tape makes dizi sound perfect. Still on there. Ain't broken don't fix it :)

When I can get the membrane on right, it sounds lovely!
I love the wood, and it sounds good, even with scotch tape over the "membrane" hole. I know, that's not the sound I'm after, but I keep having trouble with the membrane material that came with the flute. I know that is TOTALLY my beginner fault, though! The glue is excellent.Like any instrument, it takes patient and attentive practice. I've watched quite a few videos on how to apply the membrane, and I think I've only gotten it right once. What I find fascinating about this, is that it's great for meditation because of the focus required for breath control.I have played saxophone for years, and this is like breathing softly to get the best tone. Now that's different! If I only play this thing five minutes every other day, the next time I pick it up, it's easier and I found I could play more notes if I don't THINK ABOUT IT TOO HARD. I've hit all of them in its range. It's relaxing if you don't fight the challenge, (which is a good lesson to learn on its own) and trying to get the embouchure right has already paid off in an unexpected way.I've never played "regular" flute before, but my mom ended up gifting me hers, and I produced a wonderful tone straight away. I mean, from the first breath! So, maybe the dizi is a bit harder to play than a western flute, I have no way to know. But it's beautiful instrument, and I plan to learn traditional songs as time allows. The kindle ebook on the dizi explains the notation system quite well.On a side note, I bought a beautiful tassel, a replica of Wei Wuxian's from The Untamed, and it looks fantastic on its stand in my bookshelf. It also encourages me to pick it up every time I walk by, so I have nothing but good things to say about this seller and this product. It pleases me to see the dizi there with its beautiful red tassel, so even if I decide I don't want to pursue the study of actually learning to play it well, it's still a wonderful thing to have.

I didn't get any glue.
I like the rosewood, I like the tube-type fitting - but it didn't come with the glue. Now I'm looking for quick-fix alternatives. I can't really say more until I can make it make a sound.

very pretty
Two notes are too close and I did not get the knot that go's with it. this is why I rate my experience as I did.

Very attractive and sweet sounding instrument
This is my 1st Dizi. I ordered the one in F. It comes with a nice hard protective zipper case, a supply of membranes and a small cake of gelatin. To install the membrane, I watched a YouTube video and had no problems at all. I play the fife and a couple other bamboo flutes so I had no difficulty playing this Dizi. The sound is wonderfully sweet, yet robust. The vibrating membrane adds enormous character to the tone. I look forward to getting better acquainted with this instrument and exploring its range.I think this is excellent value for the money. It took about a month to get here from China, but came sooner than promised.

Low Pitch Soothing High Pitch Bright
The engrave on the flute is incredibly beautiful. The rosewood is much easier to play than the traditional bamboo. The low pitch is soothing. The high pitch is bright. I learnt to play Chinese classicals since toddler. Flute is the very first instrument I mastered. When I came to US at 20 for school, I never thought that I would be able to retouch it. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I watched the Chinese TV series "The Untamed"(陈情令). The story and the characters brought me so much nostalgia. The quality flute meant so much.

PERFECT! BUY NOW!!
I got a regular $20 dizi and I thought it sounded very good for being my first time. Ended up purchasing this and it changes the game. Tones were 1000x better than my first one I bought. Def recommend the wait for this one. Looks pristine and sounds even better. Lovvvvvvvve it! Key of D is what I went with. Can’t speak for the others but imagine I will be ordering them all from here.

I'm just beginning to learn the Dizi
A while back I started watching Chinese drama shows and heard Dizi music. I loved it so I ordered one. Yes I did receive the Dizi flute. The COVID19 pandemic affected delivery time, but I'm glad I was patient. I've had the Dizi for a few days and I am finally figuring out how to direct the air into the flute and finally hearing the first three music notes coming out clearly. Mine is a G (Bangdi) flute which fits smaller hands, so I am able to reach all the finger holes. It measures about 20" long. I adjust the metal connectors of the two segments to move them further apart, it seems to work better regarding me producing actual notes. It is a dark color and a nice looking instrument. It came with a really nice case and dimi papers and a little jar of polish for the Rosewood. I did purchase a book about the Dizi that explained everything about the Dizi, including how to read Chinese music and it has some songs in it. So that will come in handy too. Anyway thank you very much.
