Q: Does the smaller platform restrict the size of items to be used?

I know this is an old question, but I'm going to answer it anyway because it might help other people. I'm having trouble putting larger items on the base, but I think it's mainly because of the wheels on the bottom. When I put a large item on the base, the whole thing tips forward & the item slides off. I'm going to remove the wheels from the bottom & I think that will help.

Q: Will this work well on gravel pathways? We need one to move items down a path that is both gravel and has wood stairs.

Might be a little rough on it. Made to help going up stairs, but it is pretty heavy duty.

Q: Can it roll on typical stair case at a appartment complex? Those stairs are single boards steps?

Sure. It easily goes up and down my steep narrow stairs in my old house.
