Hiragana And Katakana Workbook For Beginners: japanese hiragana and katakana writing practice with genkouyoushi paper and japanese crossword puzzles (Japanese Workbooks For Beginners)

Very Much for Beginners, but still a good purchase
This workbook is almost entirely filled with pages to learn the characters of the Japanese Hiragana and Katakana alphabets. Finished completing it today, and it has helped me remember a lot more of both alphabets to memory, and whilst I would recommend it to beginners who want to learn the characters and how to read them, I wouldn't recommend it for someone who has been learning to an intermediate level. All I think could really be added is a few more activities other than word searches and crosswords, as those are the only two activities found in this book, which could get boring for some learners.TL;DR: Very good beginners workbook, could use a bit more diversity in how they teach you, and have a bit more than just the characters and a few grammar rules.

Very helpful with learning new words
There's plenty of room to practice writing. Fun word search and crossword puzzles help with memory and recognition.

Does not contain lessons in all hiragana and katakana
I bought this as a gift for my sister who wants to learn Japanese, I was excited to see that there were some games at the end of each section to work on recognizing the hiragana/katakana and making it fun. I bought myself a copy so we could work on it together even though I have taken courses.I took “writing practice sheets for all hiragana and katakana characters” to mean that it would include individual sheets teaching the entire chart. I’ve included a picture where I’ve outlined the ones the book does cover. It doesn’t touch the additional sections of hiragana that use ten tens, marus, or the sounds created by adding ya, yu, yo. I went to the QR code in the front cover hoping maybe it would have printable sheets for those missing in the book. It comes with another chart of hiragana and katakana, and some empty practice sheets. If you are wanting to focus on the basic set this book is for you. But if you are looking for an in-depth workbook to learn how to write and read the entire hiragana chart you should look for a different book.
