Excellent
Very good product. Isn't a miracle cure, but drastically improves the appearance of faded trim, such as black plastic wing mirrors, door handles, seals (but be very careful applying near to the windows), front black plastic grill, mud flaps etc.It is more of a 'coverer', rather than an eradicator, meaning it covers white polish stains on trim, but don't permanently remove them. However, to all intents and purposes, if you have issues with old polish spoiling your trim, this product will suffice in covering them, darkening the trim, and them some.Positives: in addition to the above, there are no issues if you rub some of the gel on your car's panels whist applying the product to your car's trim (but, again, ensure you do not get product on windows, as it is more difficult to remove). Furthermore, a little goes a long way, and there is enough to do many repeated applications of the product as time progresses. The best method for applying it is open to different opinions. Personally, I found putting a little product on a microfiber cloth and firmly rubbing it in (in a straight line fashion- not a swirly, circular fashion), and giving it a very light once over 5 or so minutes later with a clean, different microfibre cloth (to even it out) worked best for me.In terms of longevity, it depends on how 'perfect' you want your car to look. But I found after the first application, around a week later some of the trim was looking a bit tired. However, you may well find that repeated applications to not need as much product (just a top up) and then, given that there are then more coats overall on your trim, thereafter lasts longer- plus of course your application technique improves as does the user's ability to ascertain how much product to use.Negatives: The product is greasy and a bit messy, and, as stated above, whilst it is easy to remove if you get a little product on your car's body, it is more challenging to remove from windows, hence, personally, I do not use it on the smaller trim immediately next to my car's windows (I find you can hardly tell the difference anyway, as the trim in those regions tends to be very small). If you choose to, masking tape would be an idea.Overall, an excellent product. I am aware that most car care brands have a variation of this type of product, but personally, I am not going elsewhere having used this product, and given my history of trying many different variations of similar products, that is a ringing endorsement.

Way better than anything else I have tried (decades of experience!)
Do not confuse with cheaper products or even more expensive ones!!For external black plastic trim, grained or smooth. This product is amazing. It costs a bit more than the cheap stuff, but due to its long lasting effect, by using only small quantities of product, it will provide a far better result, and in the long run, save you money over even the cheap stuff. For trim that has weathered over time and not as “black as it used to be” this product (which is clear and has no colour), small amounts of this product will freshen up the surface and with a little light rubbing with a lint free cloth, restore that “brand new black” look. It might take a couple of applications, but the results are excellent. Do not confuse with the cheap stuff that is really just black shoe polish that washes off in the first rain. This is not that. I am not a chemist so don’t know how a clear product does this, but it does. This “as new look” will last for a good few weeks/miles, and once you start using, it is much less work to refresh. For new cars I recommend due its UV resistance., I suspect it slows up considerably or even halts UV damage ( I guess it also depends on the quality of the plastic materials on your car).Excellent!

Fantastic product if you're realistic about results.
I own a late 2004 mk5 Golf tdi that was looking a little worse-for-wear - the plastic trims on all the door handles and doors faded and gave the dreaded greyish/white plastic look, and really dulled the overall look of the car. I decided to pop down to my local Halfords and picked up a bottle which was on offer at the time for 20% off, meaning I payed around £6.After cleaning the areas I wanted to touch up, I applied the product with a clean microfibre cloth, rubbing a very VERY small amount (about half the size of a pea!) with a fair amount of pressure over the entire surface, and then buffing it off with a clean section of the microfibre. Results were fantastic! My trim went from dull and grey to looking NEAR factory fresh in a matter of seconds, with very little effort indeed. Finish was mostly consistent across the entirety of the trim, and this is achievable by making sure you buff it off thoroughly. Some areas weren't completely covered, but this is not a staining agent, so be realistic about the results you're going to achieve - this won't do much to cover up anything that isn't just faded plastic. You need such a tiny amount, I was able to recondition entire door handles just by using the residue that built up around the nozzle of the bottle. To address any potential concerns:-"It's a small bottle", I used about 1/20th of the bottle on all my trim, so you've got at least a couple of years worth of solution, even if you apply it every month.-"It's not permanent!" - a) what did you really expect? b) it's so satisfying, watching your trim turn back to black, I wouldn't even want it to be permanent c) this way, if you mess up on your first go, just wait a while for it to fade and re-do it better. If you want a permanent solution, go ahead and paint your trim, but this is super quick, cheap and really easy with very little opportunity to mess something up. Gtechniq C4 is somewhat a "more" permanent solution (but still not forever), so go for that if you're lazy, but the price put me right off.In conclusion, a quick, easy and cheap solution to a very common problem. Time will tell how long the finish lasts for, but after a week of heavy rain and bright sunshine (British Summertime) and a 200 mile road trip down the motorway, it still looks exactly the same. I'm hoping to get around 4-6 weeks before I need to apply it again.EDIT 8/7/16: 5 stars -> 4 starsSo I've been using the trim gel for a while now and whilst the results are still good, I don't think it quite justifies a 5 star rating any longer. Some sections, like the door handles, still come up really well with the trim gel, with results lasting I'd say approximately 2 weeks until fade starts to show and around 4 weeks before the product needs re-applying. However, some areas of trim, like my big rear unpainted plastic bumper, had started to fade as well in a sort of "tiger-stripe" pattern - so I thought I'd try this as it had worked so well for me in the past. However, just ONE DAY after applying the gel, the tiger-striping had already started to show through, after applying a fairly thick coat and buffing off to an even finish. Really disappointed because the fading wasn't what I would consider unfixable and it had worked on similar trim pieces. So the take away message from this review is that YES it works, but not as well on some sections as on others.
