One week in and my cat is slowly getting the hang of it.
My cat is 3 years old and I have a hard time deciphering when she wants her scratches vs when she wants food. This is one of the best purchases I've done for my pet, because I am hopeful she will start being able to tell me what she wants. I'm about a week in and so far I've gotten to have her press and learn one button somewhat. I have to do say that you will need to be patient, as for each animal is different. It comes with a QR code that you can scan and read a general set of advices and tips. And please, do not start with the word Treat or any food related commands. I did scratches, as she LOVES scratches and now she can once in a while let me know when to give attention. Do not expect your animal to quickly learn and be able to teach it multiple words at a time. Patience is the key, and slow and steady wins the raise. The only thing I wish was different was the amount of pressure that it takes to press the button. It is a plastic button, so it has to *click* to make a sound, which proved difficult for my cat to learn how much pressure is needed. A little bit more sensitivity would help, especially if you pet is on the lighter side, or gentler. But overall, still happy I purchased this and I'm excited to see what new vocabulary my cat can learn and "talk" to me.

My dog used them to save my kitten's life!
At first, my puppy wasn't interested in using them. She had an older bigger button for food that she does use, but when we got these, I tried to teach her new words like family names and necessary words like "help". She has shown no interest in them at all until today when our kitten got outside and I didn't notice. She kept pushing the "Milo" and "help" buttons. She was pacing back and forth and kept going back to the "help" button. We don't have a button for outside yet so I didn't know what she wanted at first, but she helped me figure it out and because of her and her buttons, her kitten friend is safe inside.

A nice concept, it needs better set up.
The product is well organized upon opening and clearly labeled. There are two sets of directions. The directions that are in pictures and with words were the easiest ones for me to follow. My dog understood this very well and was almost immediately successful. The batteries are the little very small like watch batteries. It takes three batteries for each button. The batteries wear out quickly and are expensive to replace. The buttons come out of the base rather easily as my dog is learning to paw the button. Overall, I would not recommend this product

my dog talks!
The media could not be loaded. It took awhile. we got the buttons in december and he honestly wanted nothing to do with them at first. we pressed them but i guess he thought he couldn’t? In early february we started having him sit in front of them, and we would use our command for “paw” (or shake, doesn’t really matter) and we’d just kind of guide his paw to the button to press it. after that it took less than a week and he was pressing them on his own regularly. follow the instructions that come with it and stay consistent

Durability / battery life is an issue and replacement is difficult; customer service is unhelpful
I received these buttons a little over a month ago and one of them is already not working. I am not sure if the button itself is broken or the batteries have simply died, but given the price I would expect better.Edit: I also tried to replace the batteries in the button and was unable to do so as it is extremely difficult.Second edit: I reached out to customer service about this situation - they are incredibly unhelpful and rude.I reached out to customer service about this issue and they asked me to send them a video of the non-working button. After sending them a video to show them that I was unable to replace the batteries, they asked me to remove the batteries from another one of my buttons and place them in the button that wasn't working. I indicated that I was unwilling to remove the batteries from another button because they are so difficult to replace as then I'd have a second non-working button. They responded and indicated that I'd have to figure out how to replace the batteries because they are supposed to be replaceable. I replied and requested a video of them replacing the batteries in their own button. They did not provide a video (which is very telling) and instead gave me text instructions that claimed the fit for the third battery is "tight." I replied and indicated that I followed their instructions and that I am physically able bodied and still unable to force the third battery in.They responded by asking me to again remove batteries from another working button and then attempt to replace them and suggested that something may have happened when I removed the batteries from the first button. I replied and indicated that I'd need confirmation that they will replace both buttons if I could not replace the batteries in the second button. They responded and claimed they have sold "over 2M buttons" and that this was "the very first time" they have heard of this issue and that I'd need to send back both buttons if I couldn't replace the batteries in the second one... but that I would also need to take a second video of myself attempting to put the buttons back in second one before they would provide a prepaid shipping label. At that point, I was fed up and decided to look elsewhere. It is unfortunate given that my kitty is getting very good as using the buttons, but given the price I'd expect a longer lasting product. I'd also expect much better than rude, passive aggressive, and unhelpful customer service. Overall, it seems that this brand doesn't stand behind their product and I'd suggest looking elsewhere for pet buttons.
