Great set to build and even more fun to play with!
My daughter is only 4.5 but loves playing with small intricate toys. As she has recently started to love Lego I bought this set on offer for £70 for me to build and her to play with. It has exceeded our expectations. Building it was great fun. Lots of details and nice colours. Room keys, a snack bar, small suitcases that can open, a piano with a removable saxophone and microphone. My daughter loves playing with everything. She is constantly taking apart the food and drink bars to give the characters picnics round the pool and then remaking them so they are ready for the next day of play. Lego is always expensive but the size, detail and play options with this set easily make it worth the money compared to other sets in my opinion.

Best Lego Friends set
I don't usually do reviews but this is the best Lego Friends set we have!My 7 year old got this for her birthday. She really enjoyed building it. Very slowly - it took her about 2 months to finish, as she would do it in small bursts. She built it mainly by herself and just needed help with a few bits. The build is cleverly staged as rooms are completed at each stage, and in the first few bags are things like the taxi so there are bits completed early on.Now it is complete my 7 yo and 4yo are really enjoying playing with it together. I would say out of all the Lego Friends sets we have it is the most 'playable'.The lift is a particularly good feature!Highly recommend.

Hours of fun
Genius, 11 bags, 200 pages of instructions, 2 weeks of patient building. This is my 6yo s favourite xmas present. I know it's expensive but it is beautifully put together. Modular units so each step is manageable. I like the dj booth on the roof, but there are little details all over. My daughter has already got a million different stories of how the Lego ladies play and work in the hotel. Brilliant.

Lego Triumph
This was bought as a Christmas present for my 10-year old granddaughter who was delighted to receive it on Christmas morning. I am pleased to say she is still assembling parts of it and must say it is looking really impressive. Its one of the bigger constructions from Lego and has been really well thought out and reasonably easy to assemble. It would make an excellent blueprint for a 5 star hotel!

she loves it and had a great time building it
daughters main birthday present. she loves it and had a great time building it. I can't help feel a bit disappointed every time I compare built lego to the images on the boxes - they are TINY. The instruction manual for this one is a bit of pain as it's mostly contained in one so you can't really share the construction. the piano is genius!

Another lovely set from Lego - but pricey
This is a lovely lego set (which at the price probably needs to be). It was pretty easy for me to build - my 5 year old is less interested in doing much structural work though she enjoyed putting together the smaller pieces like the figures, the fountain, the flower stands, the "pathways". It took me about 2-3 hours though I'm not an expert. I thought the manual was really clear. I like that you build small stuff first so if you have an impatient person they can play with those while you move onto the major build. The lift works fine and my 5 year old could see how to make it 'stop' at each floor, though most of the figures seem to enjoy precariously balancing in the empty space. It's a bit tricky getting the characters securely in the lift but still good. The revolving door is great too. We've spun round and round in those. Sometimes the figures just came and went. The chandelier is lovely but you have to avoid it to work the revolving door from the inside. There are lovely touches though I think these are more likely to be appreciated by an adult. I'm not sure the 'bar', the grand piano, the turntable with speaker are likely to be important to a typical 5 year old. I know Friends is targetted at 8-12 year olds but even then.....But this is a small 'gripe.'She loves the taxi. You have to take the roof off to get the figures in but the roof goes on and off quite easily. We really appreciate that Nate the bell boy arrives with hat and a separate hair piece so when he's off duty he has hair. You get 3 suitcases, a postcard and map. And there's plenty of seating and food and drinks for everyone. We knew there were only 2 bedrooms when we bought it - you'd think those 'best friends for ever' would be better at sharing by now. We used our bog standard lego to build an annexe with spare beds.As with all Lego it's smaller in real life than I expected though this is not a bad thing as we store our sets made up. This is because she tends to play with them as though they are doll houses. So why not 5 stars? I think it's a lovely lego piece and she is enjoying it but if your child prefers playing with the made up set rather than making it then I think some of the smaller less expensive sets probably have as much if not more play value. If I had been the one choosing I'd probably have picked the car and caravan set or one of the mountain rescue sets as I think they would have sparked off much more imaginative play.

Great but smaller than first thought.
Spend most of Boxing day building this with my 5 year old. i expected this Grand hotel to be quite large, after all the box is Huge, however once its built is only a 3rd of the size of the box.The attention to detail is amazing, we own quite a few lego friends lego sets and this has to be the best by far, the floors of the hotel can be taken apart and swapped around. the taxi has a boot which can be opened and a suit case can be stored inside. There is a working lift too.instructions are easy to follow. managed to buy this at a bargain of £54, within hours the price went back up to £100, i think if id have paid full retail id have been a bit miffed about the size but at £54 i cant moan to much.
