Q: I want to sleep in these. Which type (the headband or the neckband is better for sleeping/resting in? Will it be possible to sleep with these?

The neck band muffs are great and work very well with helmets, hats and eyewear etc.. The spring holding them to your head sits just below the hair line at the back of the neck below the skull. There is also a couple of tapes that join together with Velcro over the top of the head if you wish to stabilise them. I can't see how you could sleep in these. I would suggest ear plugs.

Its more about practicality than comfort. The neck band only really works if you need to keep the top of your head free for other uses. Maybe you need to wear a hat or carry water back from the well, perhaps you have a fancy hair style like a beehive or an afro, in which case the neck band is your only option. But for all other purposes the head band is best. Its comfortable, secure and perfect should you need to wear ear defenders whilst sleeping. If anything the discomfort comes from the pressure the ear cups place on your head in order to seal out the noise. This pressure can be lessened by forcing the wire headband open a little but can't be done with the neckband type as they rely on the pressure to stay in place.

Q: I have jaw pain & tinnitus. Are these comfortable enough for reading, computer work & eat my food with? Or will they hurt or press my jaw or ears?

may be painful on the jaw if you have very painful/sensitive jaw. would help with tinnitus though as it blocks out the noise, giving the ears some respite from the noise.

Can’t comment, only got the headband type. I use mine quite often over an old leather bush hat wearing an ear piece. It can put a bit if pressure on your temples that way but my choice
