VP Components BC73 Square Taper Cartridge Bottom Bracket (68x103mm)

A reasonably priced replacement BB for my Boardman CX. Unfortunately Boardman decided to use the 103 BCD square taper on their bikes, which is hard to source. This is a perfect fit (in the appropriate size) and a lot cheaper than the competitors.

Good solid bottom bracket, well made. Same BB as sold by local retailer but at half the price. well worth buying.

Does what it says on the tin and great value for the money

Just the job, looks well made though of course I've yet to find out how long it lasts. Very good price, well packaged.

Sound smooth

Came packaged well and looked great at first sign. Being 68x103 its quite a difficult size to find online from the big brands thought this will be a good replacement, installed carefully by cytech technician we thought it’ll be quite good. Unfortunately grinding and crackling sounds started after a weeks worth of commuting on fixed gear bike.

Cheap but good quality and in the hard to find 103mm length.

This has done less than 120 miles, i stripped my bike down to clean it and when I checked the bottom bracket it sounded dry and grinding as if all the grease was gone. What a load of rubbish, yes you get what you pay for but such low mileage should not produce such worn out sounding components. Now i`m wondering how much longer it will last before it wears out and needs replacing.
