Metal gear yes, but its aluminum. The finish on it wasnt great. Like it was made in a shed. It's also very noisy, and yes the gear mesh between the spur and pinion gear is correct. I do not recommend unfortunately.

Not quality metal or durable.
Maybe I got a bad example but this heat set has not been high quality or durable. Needed a mod 0.5 spur gear in a pinch since mofo was out of stock, and decided to give this set a try.30 minutes later the spur is stripped out in one spot and noticeable tooth wear on the rest. I’m pretty sure this gear is aluminum and the hardened steel pinion gear on my surpass motor is just chewing it up.Guess I’ll just have to wait until mofo gets more stock of the hardened gears.

Mod .5 gear for Mofo RC buzz saw
Got this because mofo RC was out of stock for their mod .5 gears but wanted the extra strength and speed. This worked out perfectly alongside my buzz saw motor.

Too much friction
Product fits and works as intended. The only issue I had was it is really noisy. The gears have increased motor resistance. This is not a long time solution as expected.
