Not many really good React books, but this is one of them
Simple, clear intro to React -- with Typescript. Up-to-date for 2023. If you like a real dead tree book to learn React: this is it. Strong recommendation!

Good beginners guide but lacks real-world examples
This is a great study book to get a new React Typescript dev up to speed. There are lots of examples of how to setup and configure your project and IDE but he book stops short of the kind of real-world example we need to implement. The book gets you started which is its main objective, but the learning curve really starts when the developer needs to deal with complicated validation, authentication, collections etc.

Good book
I also own "Learning React" 2nd ed. by Banks and Porcello.I like having both books, the Banks and Porcello book covers a lot of React and Javascript fundamentals. This book goes further including Typescript and how to use React components like Routing, and covers things like styling. I would have liked to see the topic of testing more integrated with examples as you go along, rather than coming as a chapter at the end of the book. Its coverage of the webpack typescript setup is also good, now that create-react-app seems to be deprecated (a good move I think).Nitpicks: the code font used could be smaller, and the formatting on page 302 seems to be messed up.
