When I received this Epson WF PRO 7840, I was so excited to get it. LOVED it when I received it, used it on a daily basis up until 3 weeks ago. It isn't even a full 2 years old. It started getting lines on everything that I would print, more on the pictures. Black prints and documents are not so bad. I bought and replaced the cartridges, did the maintenance scans, printed head alignments, etc. It didn't help.Finally decided to bring it into the repair shop to see if techs could figure out what was causing the issue. As of this past Tuesday, I was told that it is the print head, no longer works. It needs to be replaced, but the issue is that he can't find a printhead replacement for my printer Epson WF PRO 7840. I even went online to search for a print head and NOTHING!!!!These printers are not cheap, so I could keep it and use it for printing in black only because it will not print anything in color. I am not very happy about this!!! If the company is going to continue selling WF PRO 7840, they had better have the parts available to repair it!!!! Think twice before purchasing, think ahead first. All things wear out!!!

Didn't work correctly from the day I got it. Quit printing blue ink within one week- brand new cartridge installed as well. Customer service sucked! would never buy again.

This thing weighs a ton, so I'm not sure if it was dropped during delivery or was shipped broken, but as you can see in the pictures, the bar under the scanner glass was disconnected, despite the being no damage to the box or external parts of the printer. The scanner being broken prevented any kind of setup, so even if we wanted to use the other functions, it wasn't possible.I contacted Amazon support and was assisted promptly, and refunded within an hour of UPS scanning the return.

I bought this printer in retail as there was a special offer (about $ 200 cheaper than the $ 539 listed here).It replaced a HP 9025 and I have had HP printers for many years.I was looking for a complete printer (print, scan, fax,copy) with automatic both sides scanning as well as a large glass to scan large documents. The WF-7840 has it all and now, after 3 months, I find this printer superior to any HP printer I have had. The only negative is that the software is complicated in the sense that there are various apps (I use Windows 11) and I am still not sure which one to use. I was used with HP that I coul;d manually set the scan quality so that the document would not be too large to send by email, if so needed. I did not see such option with the WF-7840. On the other hand, the HP software, though more user friendly, would frequently log itself out and then required to log in again. At other times the HP software would stop working all together.

On the surface, this seemed like it would serve many functions. I was interested in a scanner with a document handler, and a printer that would print large formats and double sided. It should have been able to do those things, however it is nearly impossible to connect it. I tried WIFI, it drops the connection every one or two pages. I tried a USB cable, and it simply would not recognize the connection. I tried printing and it gives me an out of paper indication every time even though both paper trays are loaded. It's huge and its heavy and I bought a printer stand just to hold it. A complete waste of money for both the device and the stand. Buyers beware: If it looks too good to be true it is too good to be true.
