Q: My ink feels like it has chunks in it- has anyone else experienced this, and can it be fixed?

I have not experienced it. My first thought would be to sent it back. If that were not possible, I would pour all ink out and try to strain the chunks out, fishing out what would not convert back to ink. FWIW

At the widest point I would say the bottle is about 3 in.

Q: Is the color of this ink close to the blue in the pilot precise v5/v7 rollerball pens? i know this sounds like a silly question, but i like that blue.

As far as I know, the answer is no. Others you mentioned are blue-black(and all others not only Pilot). This blue is pure blue. Other companies sell the blue inks for fountain pens but they are all slightly different.
