Great knife!
Very sharp, a little flimsy with how thin it is, and of course it's going to be brittle with how hard it is, but as far as sharpness goes it is great. I'm not very experienced with chef's knives, but for most people this seems like a high price for not much difference from a knife that's half the price like Dalstrong's shogun knife. If the high price doesn't bother you, I don't think you'll regret it. I have tried their shadowblack chefs knife and loved it. This knife is definitely sharper, just not quite as sturdy as those.Besides that, the knife feels good in the hand and looks beautiful. It feels balanced and will cut most things. Just be careful you don't cut something tough enough that it causes you to force the blade down and accidentally break it because it is a THIN knife. Definitely not suitable for bones and something like squash might be worrisome to cut.

Outstanding!
I have used a lot of chef knives over the years and this knife is impressive by all means. It is incredibly lightweight and being on the thin side for a knife that large it glides through whatever you need to cut with ease. After a few hrs of use i start to wish it had a different handle material and wasnt quite as smooth but still as razor sharp as the initial cut. Its very easy to manuever and control even with the very smooth handle that does look amazing. Overall you wont regret this knife. 5 star definitly a favorite and i even compare that to the other Dalstrong series like Omega, Shogun and Gladiator

Best knife I own
If you've been contemplating one of these knives from this series, do it. I have about 10 other dalstrong knives and they are all great, but this one is extremely thinner and sharper with its 8* edge. So I'm assuming it may dull quicker, but with its higher quality steel that you can feel and see, we will find out! With proper care I'm sure it will continue to be ny favorite. If it holds up after a month of heavy use, I'm buying the 9.5 inch chef knife!

Gorgeous, sharp as hell but not practical. Made for shelf
I am a bit embarrassed to write this and admit my mistake, but here it goes: When I got these and took them out and used them, I initially said and noticed that they ( 4.5” paring and 7” Santoku I bought) were the nicest and sharpest knives I own ( and I own a lot). These are utterly fantastic, but… they sold me on features that I initially misunderstood as practical but were nothing more than included for marketing. Specifically, the DLC coating really impressed me as it does in fact add to the hardness of the steel from 61 HRC from steel properties to a score of 100 ( kind of but not really) and also add to the stainless quality. The only part of the blade that matters from a hardness standpoint, however,( unless using on bone or hard surface, which you shouldn’t do with this knife and you wouldn’t anyway) is the edge and the edge is not coated with DLC ( only the rest of the blade). Assuming that the purpose wasn’t to make it harder but to make it more stainless, you must look at the steel. CPM S30V is a very good steel that ironically doesn’t need help in the stainless department. They did mention the hardness improvement ( that applies to the blade only and not the edge) to 100 HRC, so they were using the boost in hardness from a marketing perspective only because the edge isn’t boosted beyond the purported 61 hardness level. When you sharpen the blade the DLC coating will be removed on the edge as it sharpens. In short, the DLC is pointless from a practical perspective ( but it is a beautiful blade, until it is worn off eventually). I spent a lot extra for these features that really don’t matter. I have the shogun series and that is not as gorgeous, but is more practical. Once again. These knives are beautiful and sharp as heck out of the box and a dream to cut with, but the marketing deception concerns me. I am not sure I have ever seen another kitchen knife with DLC coating on it ( why ?). None of the other high end companies boast about it or apply it. I bought these knives as heirloom so justified the price tag, but on practical note, as I use them, it is going to come off and wasn’t necessary to begin with. If performance of the edge was uniquely enhanced by the chosen S30V steel but that steel’s trade off was decreased stainless quality ( assuming that you couldn’t get comparable performance from another steel just as hard and tough as S30V) then I could see it (but that isn’t the case). CPM S30V is corrosion resistant in temperatures up to 200° F so should not be put in dishwasher or close to boiling temperature. Therefore, It doesn’t need enhanced stainless property with DLC ( which they didn’t mention as a benefit in their marketing anyway—just the increase in hardness). In short, I feel a bit duped into spending the extra cash. Damn, they are pretty and sharp out of the box though.

This is Sparta!
This is the coolest knife I have ever held. Crazy sharp. You can slice an apple into mandolin slices with this knife. Very light like others have said which is nice. Expensive but worth it. Also looks like a spartan sword which is awesome! Will probably be getting another knife in this collection.
