Q: is it any good with pet hairs

Hello, unfortunately I have not used this product in an animal environment but I did have to cut off human hair from around the rollers on a regular basis. I also had to press down hard otherwise it did not pick up that well. Sorry if not much help. Regards

There may be, if you look up 'Ewbank Carpet sweepers', on the internet. Alternatively, there could be another firm that produces slightly more heavy-duty versions. Having said that, I find mine quite adequate for the job.

Q: The sweeper i have at the moment (a bissel) drops crumbs as i go across the room. does this one hang on to the crumbs and bits? thank you

No, the Ewbank carpet sweeper does not drop bits, I find it very efficient.
