A Masterful Overview of Rome - The Cradle Of Western Civilization - A Must Visit in Europe!
Teresa Mills, the creator and author of several books: "Hey Kids! Let's Visit . . ." for families and children during their curious age, 8 years and above, has done it again to raise travel dreams and enthusiasm for families and actually anyone.Rome, the capital city of Italy: a vibrant city and ‘live museum’ of ancient history. Teresa highlights all major sights Rome is famous for with a wealth of brief descriptions not to overwhelm but rather to raise curiosity and travel excitement – and that in 82 pages! Many years ago I visited Rome for a few days and always yearned to go back. It is an amazing cultural and educational experience! Reading Teresa’s book intensified that wish to go back with my grandchildren and be so much better informed and prepared. It's a book to tuck into your travel bag and off to Rome!

Black and white photos, facts about Rome
This thin book features some of the main tourist sites of Rome. Each short chapter has a black and white photo with a couple of pages of facts about the attraction. It's informative, but lacks excitement. The book reads more like it's meant for adults, with longer sentences. There are bigger words like "renovated" and "commissioned." Also a few too many facts that kids would find boring, like the names of architects who built various structures.I also bought The Magnificent Book of Treasures: Ancient Rome, and much prefer that one. It's available on Amazon.

Family-Friendly way to plan a trip to Rome!
In addition to providing history and fun facts for must-see attractions in Rome, I love that there are also recommendations for bike and walking tours. A great resource and very family friendly!

A Guided Tour
As in all the books in her "Let's Travel" series, Teresa Mills writes in such beautiful detail that I feel like I just went on a guided tour around Rome. I haven't been lucky enough to travel there in person yet, but when I do I'll know which historical monuments and museums I should go see. Now to pass the book to my niece who loves learning about far away places!
