Mother Earth New Zealand Manuka Honey

Manuka honey can be quite expensive, especially for this level of quality. But this brand is relatively affordable. I enjoyed the taste. It definitely doesn't taste like the wildflower honey a lot of us are used, but not bad. Its flavor will likely be more familiar to most than say, Buckwheat Honey.This honest is supposed to have antibacterial effects, and I can't say from a purely scientific standpoint much about that. But I can say it help alleviate the stomach pains I was getting. And that's a plus in my book.

Like a lot of other people, I wondered if Trader Joe's Manuka honey is UMF certified, so I wrote to them and asked. Here is their response:"when we first introduced our Trader Joe's Manuka Honey, we were told by the producer that using the registered UMF mark and a UMF 10 rating was appropriate and our label reflected that. We subsequently learned of requirements from the association managing the mark (an outside third-party certification source) that did not fit our business and we therefore have since removed the UMF mark from our labeling. The primary reason is that bearing the mark would stand to increase the cost of the product. However, please note that neither the source nor the quality of the honey has changed."I had purchased UMF Manuka honey before and still had some to compare with Trader Joe's (you can't fool the ol' taste buds, as Manuka honey has a unique flavor unlike any other) and Trader Joe's is precisely the same. Exact same taste, same consistency, same color.It's the real deal. And the best deal on Manuka honey, by far.

Most Manuka honey I have purchased have been very thick, this consistency is not what I expected

I love this honey you have to get used to it. The price is good. I usually buy from Trader Joe’s, but they were out of it and I was so upset. I was amazed to find this online and the price was pretty comparable if not the same. Looked at the date. Everything is fresh. I am super happy.

Mother Earth Manuka taste pretty good, but faor warning it does have a different taste than regular honey. A good way to think of it is like beef v. venison, or whole milk v. 1%. We start a tsp right before allergy season and found it does help with reducing the soreness and time associated with sore throats. The price is a little high in comparison to other brands with a higher 'UMF' (unique manuka factor), the minimum recommended umf is 10, we've found higher for much less than mother. I would probably not buy this one again and go with a different brand.

This honey is divine on the tongue. I can't seem to keep everyone in our house from eating it right out of the jar.
