I needed a strong shelving unit for my garage, and the SONGMICS 5-Tier Steel Shelving Unit delivered in every way!Assembly is tool-free, but I found that lightly tapping the pieces together with a rubber mallet made the process even smoother. Everything fit snugly, and once assembled, the unit felt incredibly sturdy and well-balanced.The 875 kg load capacity is impressive—I’ve stacked it with power tools, heavy boxes, and car supplies, and there’s zero wobble. Bought these shelves for storage in our caravan annexe. We live in the caravan permanently and have a small annexe that zips into one end of the awning. Shelving needed to be wide enough to accommodate large boxes. To be honest the frames are not very strong (although they are on foam mat flooring on top of gravel they do rock a little if pushed) but once in place they are strong enough to hold the weight easily. We didn't need all of the shelves themselves, as we needed to stack some plastic boxes and larger items on the floor, but we have had to replace them with wooden slats. The reason for this is that the annexe is no more than a 'damp tent' in the winter (not heated so very cold and lots of condensation) and the lightweight MDF boards warped and became covered in green mould (particularly the underneath) and we didn't notice this until it was quite bad (after only one winter). Perhaps if we had sealed or painted it they might have faired better but we didn't, and maybe in a dry environment they might have been OK. Anyway with wooden slats in place (and sealed too) they do the job. Plastic units would have been cleaned but were more expensive although it did cost an extra £50 for the wood and sealant in the end! Quite pleased with the final result tho.

I found this shelving unit very easy to assemble. No nuts or bolts, so no need to fiddle around with spanners. It does come in two halves, so I would suggest building the bottom half and then build the top half directly onto the bottom half. I say all of this as there are no instructions on how to build this shelving unit, or at least i didnt find any. It is fairly straight forward to assemble them, i would advise taking your time building it, just as a side note you will need a small to medium sized flat head screwdriver and possibly a rubber mallet. I didnt need the mallet but the screwdriver is a definite must. Very sturdy once completed. I have to say that I'm really pleased with shelving unit,it is much better than I anticipated. Definitely recommend.

Excellent value for money, arrived on time and well packed. Easy to erect and follow instruction booklet. Pleased with my purchase.

STURDY, GOOD QUALITY, TAKES A BIT TIME AND PATIENCE TO ASSEMBLE.

Seemed easier enough to construct until I started, trying to slot the tabs into the grooves was a complete pain. I’m sure had I another two hours to put it up I would have completed the job, but gave up after completing two of the lower sides especially when the plastic feet broke so straight into the metal recycle bin it went. I guess you get what you pay for….

This is was bought to provide storage in a cupboard. Assembly was difficult because some of the parts did not fit together without a lot of manipulation with a screwdriver/chisel and mallet. The 4 connectors which join the top and bottom sections are flimsy and need improving. They can easily fall out if you need to move the completed unit.
