Good value safety kit for DIY chainsaw work
This was a bargain – I've seen the same thing elsewhere for quite a bit more money. All the items are very well made, the gloves are really tough but still comfortable to wear for long periods, only the left hand has some safety padding (a small patch on the back of the hand) and the cuff is long too.The helmet was easy to put together except for fitting the mesh visor into its frame, this is a very tight fit, but then again, it has to be. The ear muffs are very effective and again I found the comfortable over long periods, then you can just click them out into a 'rest position'.The leggings work as over trousers and are best put on like another pair of trousers rather than trying to zip them up at the back around your legs, they come with a webbing belt which is neither use nor ornament as it keeps slipping through the buckle and working loose. There are two sets of belts loops, one above the other, so you could add a proper belt as well as or instead of the webbing belt. I used braces. There is a thick wadding inside the front of the legs. I was concerned they might be unwieldy but turned out to be very comfortable and I didn't get over hot working in them

Excellent Quality Equipment, already heavily used
Excellent quality and totally as described and expected. Also using the helmet/ faceguard/ ear defenders for extensive strimming (weed whacking), excellent dual purpose equipment.Ear defenders do a great job of killing machine noise and yet I can still determine people speaking to me.I wore the helmet combo for two straight days and it was light and comfortable. The chainsaw chaps and gloves are comfortable and a good fit, I hope I never get to test their effectiveness. They do make me feel safer when cutting.Excellent service from vendor, thoroughly recommended. Sent to Spain from UK with no problems and arrived on time.

Feet safe with this gear on
The trousers, helmet and gloves give a sense of safety when cutting wood. The ear defenders are excellent at keeping out the noise.Hopefully the trousers do their job at stopping the chain but I'm glad to say I haven't had to prove this yet.

UNSAFE PRODUCT!
The trousers arrived not black as seen in the photograph, but with bright orange thighs right down to the crutch. Horrid not what we wanted! The Safety helmet was a joke & as flimsy as my grandchildren's toys! The symmetry/centralisation of the helmet is decided by the fixed placing of the Hearing Protectors. They were not centralised! Thus the helmet was off-kilter, with the helmet listing to one side, the logo being far from the centre of the forehead! The MOST IMPORTANT facial guard was not central 'nor stable! As a gardener, I would become infuriated by a moving, lightweight mask when you have bought the thing for eye protection! Awful product.

should have bought the items separately... the ...
should have bought the items separately ... the helmet and gloves are ok but the protective trousers would fit Hagrid ... virtually unwearable for a 5ft8 hobbit ...

Excellent value kit for starting out
This kit is excellent value. The helmet and gloves are great, it's only the chaps that result in a 4 star experience for me.Personally I find the chaps a bit cumbersome to put on and keep on in the same place. I think maybe using a different belt with them and perhaps some braces would be a good idea, I haven't tried that yet. However the helmet with ear defenders are brilliant. I saw other reviews of people complaining about the poor instructions... if you can't work out how to assemble this helmet, you probably shouldn't be operating a chainsaw, you're going to hurt yourself! The gloves are also excellent. I would usually pick an XL glove and they fit me OK, maybe a touch on the tight side but not so much as to bother me while working. If you're just starting out (like me) then I think this is a great kit to buy. The quality is just what you'd expect from Husqvarna at this price.
