Q: How wide is this and how many yards?

90 inches wide by 40 yards long.

Q: I read a comment and it states the batting was all polyester and not cotton. cotton has a poly scrim, but still cotton. is this batting polyester?

This is the only batting I use. It machine sews beautifully and washes well too. Label says "ALL NEW MATERIALS CONSISTING OF 87.5% Purified Cotton, 12.5% Polpropylene

Q: Does this thing really weight 70 pounds???

It is a 90 inch x 40 YARD roll. There is a heft and bulk to it but I don't think it is 70 lbs. A man can easily lift the entire roll without a problem. When using 2 yds for a quilt, it is fairly light weight and not bulky at all.
