I'm loving this gate. Working exactly how I had hoped. Easy tension installation. It keeps my dogs away from the kitten's food and litter box. Threw a couple treats through the door to get them used to using it. Also Easy for me to open in order to get through the doorway. Seems very sturdy. You do have to squeeze buttons and lift gate a little to open. If you have problems gripping things, may not be for youI also had problems with the top alignment as others have mentioned. I adjusted the tension on each side until the top latch connected properly

We bought this gate to go on our bathroom door to let our cat in but keep our dog out (litter box issues). It's been a thorough success. It was easy enough to assemble, looks good, keeps the dog out while letting the cat in. It's easy for us humans to open and close. We appreciate the automatic closing feature and the fact that the gate will open either in or out.It is true that the top latch doesn't meet it's connection (also mentioned in another comment), but that's because our door frame isn't the same width all the way up. The bottom latch works well enough so that it doesn't matter.

This is exactly what I needed in my home. I have cats and 2 dogs and they both love to stick their heads in litter box and eat well ya know! I have since bought litter robots and thought ok they won’t stick their heads into this but of course they did, sooo I put this gate in the doorway of a spare room where I have cat toys and a futon for the cats and the cats can enjoy going in there without a dog and also no,worries of dog eating poop. This was the best ever invention. I was sooo thrilled when I discovered this gate. I am used to baby gates so it was super easy to adjust the gate to fit the doorway and once ya get the hang of it it goes in really easily. The plastic tie on the gate was smart so as you tighten the rod that goes into,the gate post you can see it adjusting. The company I guess saw that people don’t always understand how the gate is supposed to tighten so this tie piece helps it to adjust more easily. It comes with a special tool to help tighten the rod and it works perfectly. Good idea on company part since I used to in the older days use a wrench, this is just cake now to adjust and tighten. Great quality for,the price you can’t go wrong. I read reviews and I too agree with all the great reviews! Highly recommended!!

This gate was easy to assemble, and is sturdy and looks nice. It’s keeping my athletic dog from getting in trouble, while saving my older cat the strain of having to jump a standard baby gate. I love that it auto-closes behind me.That said, the latch at the top doesn’t actually meet its catch, so it doesn’t latch at the top - the latch release buttons are pointless. But it’s secure enough at the bottom I hope to not have to address it as a problem.I’d venture a guess I just got a buggy gate and that if I ever ordered another, that one would probably be fully functional. I’d still recommend this gate to others with both cats and dogs to work around.

Gates were very easy to install. We had a hard time finding a solution where our Dobermans couldn’t open the gate and because the mechanism is a button and lifting it’s great at keeping the dogs out. Works great. Very happy with the product. Ended up buying two!

Our older smaller terrier is have some “accident” issues. We did not want to completely close her off or keep our 2 cats out of the family room. This gate takes care of all of these needs in a very efficient and people and all pet friendly way. The smaller adjustable door allows our regular sized cats to go in and out. They had confidence to do so within an hour a getting the gate up and working. We do not have it open all the way because our dog could go through. The small door opening height is easily adjusted so o ur dog can be kept in the family room when needed, but cats can fit through. When she can join us “wherever,” the door can be the 90 degree angle just left open…to her delight! The door opens both ways, another major convenience.We did not drill into the wall, just used the tension set up which is very sturdy on this gate.My back was suffering from crouching to adjust an expandable wooden tension gate, the kind that does not open unless you undo it. We often just leaned it against the room opening AND it often fell over with a crash. The 30” height on this gate is perfect for opening and closing with ease. It also closes automatically! My day is so much less frustrating and all critters are happy with the gate!UPDATE TO REVIEW:Our small dog is able to push up the ”LOCKED” cat door. Several others have had this problem.The gate is first class but the manufacturer needs to know that the small door can be pushed up by a small dog who wants to come through. There must be a solution to fixing, adjusting, redoing the LOCK so the small door cannot be pushed up allowing the small dog to get through!!Mayb the manufacturer could come up with some bar clips we could attach that would keep the door from moving up.

"Easy use" in quotes only because visitors can't seem to figure it out and a little tutorial is often required. It's honestly quite easy to use, love that the door can open in both directions. Smaller dogs however can get through that cat door (and some medium puppies) but you never know till you try. There is an option for holding the door open at a smaller size but my pup would work hard to squeeze through and push up that door with extra pressure. Anyhow, she has barely gained any weight but just enough where she now can't get through so now it's perfect! May be a get and see purchase for some with dogs of questionable size, but even so is well worth it.
