Harry Harvey Dried Red Chillies 50g Whole, for curries, rice, sun dry kashmiri chilli spice herb seasoning hot long Mirch pepper

I used some of the dried chillis in one of Nadiya Hussain's recipes. They were a supplement to Nadiya's own spice mix. Meal was excellent and the small package of dried chillis meant a small price and next day delivery on prime.

Great value and v hot!

You get a lot of chillies in the bag. Good quality and used in making own oil bottle. They have infused the oil well and oil now has a lovely chilli flavour when cooking.

It is not too hot, but very good flavour. One bag gives plenty. Highly recommended!

Excellent product in resealable packaging

The bag just describes these as 'red chillies' but the listing describes them as 'Mirch pepper'. If they are Mirch Masala then their heat is in the region of 30,000 - 50,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), about Cayenne pepper heat, but if they're Raja Mirchi then they're in the region of 800,000 to over 1 million SHU - quite the difference! Hence the advice to proceed with caution.Chop or grind to as small as required and add a little, then keep adding until you're satisfied with the heat level - for me that means just a pinch or two in a couple of litres of curry or chilli (I'm not a chilli head).It isn't to everyone's taste, and a little goes a long way so this bag will probably last me a lifetime, so at £3.99 for 50g (as at 27 January 2024) this is probably pretty good value.

Arrived promptly. Larger package than I expected. Placed a few in my pickling jars and they gave a wonderful subdued but powerful punch. Very nice indeed.
