Q: Is the floor grate made of the same metal as the rest of the crate?

Yes the floor is not like the wire crates it has big wide slates on the floor which is more comfortable for them to stand on. If you have a dog that won't eat there bed or a rug or a mat I would put something like that on the floor to make it more homey for them. It's a nicer floor then the standard floor. I really like this floor in this crate and I love the crate. My dog destroyed my standard double door 48 inch crate by busting the door so bad it had to be chained shut. This is a great crate she can't get out or break the door on it. Hope this helps.

Q: How large of a dog can this fit? Mine is medium size but I’d like a cage with lots of room for her.

It's the biggest we've found. We bought 3 of them to house a litter of 10 Doberman puppies. It is big enough to fit full grown Dobermans with a little room to move around. We love them, especially the pull out tray on the bottom for easy clean up with the puppies.
