Deficient
The first time I tried this model as a replacement for my waterproof ipod shuffle, I worked perfectly but it lasted about six months. The second one did not charge, and it's replacement within the 30-day trial has just stopped charging. I'm out of the 30-day replacement because I was away on vacation so I guess I have to find another model.

Happy so far/Updated Review
I have had at least 4 swimming mp3s. My last one worked fine until I purchased a new Macbook Air--it would not recognize it anymore. I thought I would give this one a chance and I was pleasantly surprised. My Macbook Air recognized it instantly, transferring my music was a breeze. I like the large play button. Sound quality underwater is great--although I am not that fussy. Instructions say only use for 30 minutes at a time! I am a little leery of that but we will see. I swim laps a couple of times a week and I have used this 3 or 4 times so far and it has worked well. I will update my review if it fails.Liked it so much I purchased a second one for my husband..dead on arrival. Reordered and will keep updating.I disconnect head phones and put in my swim bag after each use. After about 5th use I can't find the clip--it just popped off. I will still use by stuffing in my cap but I knocked off one star.

Just didn't work
The player would charge (using the USB chord), but when plugged into laptop to download music onto it, the laptop (and I tried three different laptops) did not recognize that the player was connected as an additional (aux) drive. Was not able to load music, so the player was worthless.

Died in 3 months
This MP3 player was OK while it lasted, but that was only for 3 months. I've had other brands before and they usually last about 2 years (used only for swimming laps 1/2 hour per day, 5 days a week). Spend a little more, and get one that lasts (Syryn is better).Update - when I contacted the manufacturer (thru Amazon) they were great. Told me to try pushing the reset button, but when that didn't work they immediately sent me a new MP3 player. Finally a warranty that was honored in a pleasant and speedy manner!! I'd give them 5 stars for customer service, and will hope the new one lasts longer.

I had to return 2 of these
The MP3 player was nice when it was working. After 3 charging cycles (approx 15 times in the pool) it would not charge. The player just stopped working. I will be trying a different manufacturer. Amazon was great to deal with and the returns went quite well.

Simple, small, lightweight
Simple small and lightweight mp3 player, just what i was looking for to drive a speaker with spooky sounds for halloween. It is a bit weird though, in that it charges via a proprietary charging cable that plugs into the headphone jack. so you can't charge and listen at the same time for sure, and if you lose this cable, you're likely done for. It also loads from your computer via this same charging cable.
