Q: Are the gloves big enough for teens now? Or still pretty small?

They are on the small side…my 12 y/o just fit.

Q: Big buttons on the top and the bottom of the pads. . . what could go wrong?! :-D

I bought this for my kids a few christmases ago- The chest pieces have a small amount of foam, but not enough so that it didn't hurt when the kids punched each other in the chest. The panel things they wear on their chests hurt them when being punched, so the boys deemed the toy "no fun" and took it off. I have no idea where this it anymore. WE might have given it away.

Q: can I use my own boxing gloves or are the included gloves somehow synched with the chest piece?

You can use any boxing gloves you do not need to use ArmoGear' s gloves
