Quality for the price
It is heavy so stays in place no clamp needed. It swivels and has easy clamp for hooks application, etc. I bought it to tie rigs for fishing. It could have multiple uses. Great value and quality.

Great basic vice - solid for the money
This is a great solid and easy to use vice. I wanted something that was good quality and wouldn't break the bank - I am sure you have seen the price of some vices - I was just looking for something solid. This is made well and gets the job done - I have tied as small as #20 and as big #8 with no issues of the hook slipping. I am please with this for a good solid basic vice.

It's worth all it costed.
I have to say I wasn't expecting it to be the most fantastic thing. But for the price. It works very well. I'm leaving this review because I was looking for a review to assure me that this was worth it. I just started fly tying and I am here to let anyone else looking for an affordable vise to go ahead and get it. I believe it is more than enough to get you started. All ya got to do is wipe it off because it had a little bit of black flaky stuff on it from where it was made. Otherwise no problems. Don't even need instructions to assemble.

A solid buy. Love it.
Much of the equipment in the fly fishing world is overpriced. I'm unwilling to pay $300–500 for a tool that merely holds a hook in place and allows you to rotate it from time to time. I've tried expensive, full-rotary vises at my local fly shop, and I don't think it's worth spending hundreds more; overhand tying is easier for me. This vise is solid and serviceable. It holds the hooks very securely. I've tied everything from size 22 nymphs to size 8 hoppers and streamers with it. I like the base, which is very portable.

Good enough back-up vise
This one is OK, perfectly fine for instruction and travel! The quality could be better but hey you get what you pay for. Nice that the manufacturer sent along a pair of hemostats.

nice vice tno hook removal tool.
i was impressed with the vice. i tried a size 22 dry fly hook and it was held solid. my only gripe is the hook removal tool that was supposed to come with it was not included.
