I ordered this for my grandson for Christmas as he is train mad. The rails don't quite line up on one section of the track when the case is placed on the table so as you are pushing the train round it derails. Also you can not take the train around all of the track due to the way the track splits into sections. The wood is smooth with no splinters and the train and carriages fit on his normal wooden track. My grandson likes it so I am happy.

The quality of this wooden train set is just outstanding and I am truly delighted with the design and style of it. It’s very easy to use and is quick to assemble and put together and my niece and nephew have had hours of fun with this set. I like that it’s very good at encouraging my niece and nephew to have independent play and to use their imaginations. The train set is very strong, sturdy and durable, so it will last a very long time and it’s easy for me to keep clean. It’s also quite portable and it’s not as heavy as it looks which means we can take it away with us when we go on family holidays. I think it’s very handy that all of the pieces of the set can go inside the built-in wooden case and it’s easy for my niece or nephew to carry themselves with the handle. I adore the bright colours and the imagery used on the set as the print quality is very good and it’s very well designed. We’ve not had any problems or issues with using the set and I do feel that it is very giftable and would make a brilliant present for a little one. The value for money I feel is exceptional, and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it. It’s well worth getting!

Pieces easily lost. Overall brilliant and much loved.

Everyone knows the Brio train sets with the magnetic buffers - this is a clone which does away with assembly of the tracks and has all the pieces neatly stored away in the fold-up carry case, which also doubles up as the main track and scene. It was intended for my 3yo son but my 6yo daughter has taken a shine to it (she loves "small world" stuff) so they can play together. The set consists of 4 main train carriages with wheels, along with some scenery, animals and signs that can be placed on to the board. The trains and tracks are probably not quite as well made as the Brio kits, which is to be expected - the magnets are also not particularly strong. There are no sharp edges so the feel is okay. My biggest concern is that there is no certification for where the wood comes from - is it sustainable? Otherwise the claim that it is 100% eco friendly is greenwash. For £45 (without the 20% discount) it's a hefty gift.

Good, affordable train set which would make an excellent gift. Everything packs back in the carry case so easy to transport. There is a part on the track which is not as smoothly done nor wide enough for the train, so does not glide along. Fine otherwise though.

outstanding train set so beautifully presented and well packed, brilliant gift idea that any child will just love it. the quality of this product is perfect from the design and style to colours with great level of details and practical also encourages children to use fine motor skills to put all the bits together, imagination, sharing and of course hours of fun play. easy an simple to be assembled, looks well made with smooth edges and round corners so safe for the little hands, sturdy and fit I'm sure this set will last for a very long time what I like the most is the built in wooden case that can be used as a train track but also as a storage case to keep all the bits nice and neat between the use, easy to carry by the child as has a handle also.
