Likes: DVD format available along with digital download, Lifetime License, membership to Director Zone web services that allow easy searching among tutorials, registration perks, and the ease of understanding.Dislikes include: the sketchy quick guide, the lengthy time it took to install from the DVD even as a longstanding member to the company's community blog, the significantly different launch screens that are rearranged in comparison to previous long-standing formats thus requiring a new learning curve and finally when attempting to contact the United States California connection I found the contact phones when dialed were reported as "nonoperational". I offer that I loaded both the 2024 and 2025 versions of the software suspecting that the price would change and it did. I ordered the 2024 version from the cart after it was not changed. I am glad I had the forethought to do this after hearing of price changes of similar natures from others.Overall, as a seasoned Cyberlink customer of long standing and one that is an active member in the "Director Zone", I found this new software well worth the investment of the upgrade. I would advise searching for "lifetime" licenses under the tab labeled products, if you are like me and not a fan of subscriptions and if not immediately purchasing, please pay attention to prices that fluctuate after your searches are multiple. I found the registration of the programs offered the updates and these, when installed, allowed me access to multiple AI opportunities that in other name brand photo software programs in the United States are not available in stand alone products. Cyberlink Photo Director has withstood this "seasoned" photographers grabble with technology and I believe having chosen Cyberlink years ago that this is and has been a proven good choice.

this is great software, I used it with my D7500 and Z7 however it does not work with the Z8, I had to get a refund on it. Cyberlink has sent the info to their software division. hopefully they add the Z8 at some point and I will go back to using it

A good video creating software, needs updates because of bugs. Sometimes computer needs a restart. Many help videos on internet.

They Trick you into installing 365 Trial version Overwriting the 2024 version which wouldn't even do a simple transition.. support, forget about it.. only thing I could do was to uninstall the 365 trial version which of course puts watermarks on your video. And reinstall the 2024 version with the CDs.. The second installation froze halfway through.. I stared at as long as I could stand it.. over 30, minutes.. So I cancelled the installation. Behind the installation screen this error message was hidden all that time... CyberLink 365 is blocking the the reinstallation of the 2024 so called full feature... I paid for the installation CD which can't be reinstalled... For me... It was a complete ripoff! I returned it and got a full refund fromAmazon... Notice in the reviews only had one verified purchaser before me.. And that was a 1 Star...all the other reviews were from who knows who!

I was really surprised to receive this software as two CDs, and had to order a CD player for my computer in order to use it. Thankfully the software is worth a lot more than the CD player! Installation caused no problems once this hurdle was overcome.Comparing the cost of this with my 4k monitor (3840 x 2160) shows if you want to create quality video, this software is very cheap by comparison with the relevant hardware. I have never had my own video editing software before, having relied on various free online utilities which were very limited in scope. It is going to take me a long time to look into all the options, but for the first time I feel I have all the tools to do the job, and a heck of a lot of others that I will probably never have time to try out, too. This is so much faster and more convenient than uploading to the web, editing, then downloading again. I’m glad I ordered this. I cannot say anything about tech support, because I haven't needed it yet.

Really the best photo editing and a great tool for starters as well. It's not that hard to get started and to understand the concept of how to edit using this software. I have been able to edit photos and videos so nicely and much faster and easier than my other tools. I did watch a few videos on YouTube before I started to get accustomed to this type of editing software. I haven't gotten everything but I'm learning every day. This is great for people who want to make videos or just for editing photos. Although it takes time to get adjusted to the software.

I downloaded the trial and logged in ved all the effects and titles. Bought the full version and it only has a couple of effects for youtube, cheesy kid like animations, limited titles. I contacted support and they said I need to pay monthly subscription for all the templates. This is like a limited demo with limited features. For the price I should have gotten all that was included in the trial. I loved the trial. The program runs slow and crashes. No fixes unless you pay monthly. Horrible customer support.. I'm now looking into pre-made templates from others I can download and add for my video editing. The website advertised this and said it contains thousands of titles and templates for the 2024 Ultra yet it does not. Very deceptive advertising. This is more limited than the trial version. It's a stripped down version.

We use Cyberlink to play a lot of video and movie files. This PowerDirector/PhotoDirector software lets me create videos and enhance/manipulate still images. I shoot video of the wildlife and other wilderness footage and use that to create short videos I can upload to the internet. I also take a lot of still photographs and this software has some differences, but compares to, Photoshop and other similar programs.This is relatively easy to use, intuitive to learn, especially if you have experience with other such software, and a good deal for the price.
