Great for finishing the bottom of bowls
These simply work. I had the smaller Cole jaw set before these were available and it really helped me to clean up the bottom of my bowls and platters. I was expecting the same of this set and they didn't disappoint. I had a 10" bowl to finish and I had it done in minutes with set.I really like the fact that I can buy extensions that will allow me to finish off even larger items.

Poor thought process!
Solid material, in order to receive a 5* rating from me, an extended (longer) Nova chuck tool should have been included. The engineers missed the mark on this. Ended up engineering a remedy that included cutting 7/8" off both sides of the T handle included with the G3 , then fabricating an extension with a slot 1 1/4" deep that slides onto the now modified T handle. Works great, however, cost me time.

Great tool - long set screws
Great tool for a full size lathe. I was a bit puzzled at first though because the 10mm set screws were too long. They bottomed out with 5mm left sticking up and the jaws not tight against the chuck. I e-mailed NOVA and got a rather snarky response back that I should "stack" the mini jaws on top of the 6040. Seemed weird and looked weird too. I just use the short set screws that came with the mini jaw set on both. Would have given it a 5 star except for the screw issue.

Excellent cole jaws.
I love these jaws and the expanded capacity over the 10" with an option to extend to 15". They come with one extra screw and one extra bumper as well which is a nice surprise. They attached perfectly flat as well. Excellent example of what Nova Teknatool is capable of.

dont buy if you got a g3 chuck
I just ordered these jaws for my g3 chuck,,they did fit but as far as being able to open and close the jaws,,not too good,,if anyone has a g3 chuck you know how you use the wrench to open and close the jaws,,,the jaws were so large that you could not do this,,,,the wrench would not allow you to open and close the jaws,,

Not strait, can not get a good result on the bottom of bowls.
They are crooked. I have tried bolting them on in different orders, made sure the chuck was clean, pretty much tried everything, even tried them on several different bowls. But when finishing the bottom of a bowl, it always comes out uneven, off. I guess the best way to put it is that the bottom of the bowl does not end up square to the top of the bowl. It's tough to describe.
