I bought this with low expectations. A refurbished hard drive seemed like a risky idea. But the price tempted me to try.The drive had only 7 power cycles, but had been powered on for 61,000 hours. Which seems alarming, until you relaise that is what the drive was designed for. I ran an extended SMART test which took 15 hours. But the drive passed with flying colours.These drives have a MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of 2.5 million hours. Which is also reassuring. But like all drives, old or new. They can fail any time. So make sure to have a backup of any important data on a second drive.This type of drifve has two use case. The first is an always on NAS drive. Or the second option is the one I'm using. Which is to use it as backup storage and will only be powered up for those backups. I would not suggest it be used on a desktop day to day, unless you leave your computer on 24/7.All in all, these drives are good value for money as long as you know their limitations.

Purchased this HDD more than a year ago and can safely say its still happily running in my NAS, with it having spent most of the time online since I purchased it in February 2024. Came packaged how a HDD should, and has no read errors.It did not come with its power on time reset so it shows the original online hours.I've attached an image of the drive's current stats for those who are interested.

Arrived in good condition visually , with one drive having 50,000 power on hours and the other having 75,000. They are bit loud but have not failed as of yet (1week)

Not every drive arrived functional, but amazon gave me my money back very swiftly. Drives perform normally and have good SMART readings.

The disk works fine after initializing and formatting it. Arrived with packaging that does not guarantee safety. I had a problem with the courier, who wanted me to collect it from one of his collection points. Thanks to the help of Amazon Customer Service, the package then arrived where it was supposed to arrive. For the moment it's working well, so for now I'm satisfied.

remember you have to format and allocate on partition manager to get it to show on computer desktop even though it shows in device manager.

i put 3.5TB of stuff on it then put on my shelf as backup
