Better than expected
Pleasantly surprised at the sound quality on the Dylan TI CD set, I bought a few others where the sound quality is not very good. The only downside for me is that I do have other recordings from 74, 76 and 86 but this is still a great value with 4 hours of live Dylan for a little over $20.

Very good judged in the context of an unofficial release
This is an unofficial release of course and judged in this context the quality overall is very good - if you understand what you’re buying you are unlikely to be disappointed. That said, probably unless disc 2 is your primary interest, there are already unofficial releases reflecting the 1974 and 1986 periods that offer as good or better sound quality.I was mainly interested because of the 1976 gig on disc 2 - currently we only have ‘Hard Rain’ as an official release representing the 1976 leg of the Rolling Thunder Revue tour. The sound quality on disc 2 is very good for this type of release - the opening pair of acoustic tracks are fine though arguably sound a bit more bootleg-like than the rest. To my ear, Bob’s guitar on these sounds a little muddier than we might expect had this been a polished up official release but his vocals come through clearly. The full band tracks are better (probably the full band sound is more forgiving). Isis fades early. It’s good to hear Bob doing songs that are not included on the ‘Hard Rain’ official release.I really enjoyed disc 1 (1974 with The Band). The sound quality is generally good. It was nice to hear some Bob tracks that were not on ‘Before The Flood’. I need to listen again to check but I think the tape slows/‘drags’ briefly towards the end of Like A Rolling Stone and the start of Forever Young sounds a little dodgy.Disc 3 is from 1986 and with Tom Petty. Quality is fine - the sound quality is the best of the 3 discs. It didn’t particularly excite me as I’ve already got other recordings from this tour but if you haven’t you’ll probably welcome it’s inclusion in this set.Reflecting its unofficial status, the liner notes are limited and the photos don’t match the eras reflected on the discs. Checking against the Setlist.fm website all discs have tracks missed out from the 3 gigs. Apart from the premature fade out on Isis I didn’t notice any particularly clumsy edits
