D460AM-03 HU460AM-01 HU460AD-01 D460AM-01 WC1T4 WY7XX 460W Power Supply Compatible with Dell XPS 8930, 8920, 8910, 8900, 8700, 8300 High-Frequency Switching Power Supplies

The power supply on my Dell XPS X8500 desktop finally gave out after ten years of service. I find this power supply is a perfect replacement for the OEM unit. After snapping the unit in place, the four threaded holes on the power supply aligned up perfectly with the threaded holes on the computer chassis . All the connectors/plugs fit perfectly except I do not have a high-end graphics card on this computer, so I did not get to use the two black (8-pin and 6-pin) connectors. See my attached photos. The photo with the single label is showing the label of this new power supply unit. The photo with two labels are showing the label of the OEM unit and of this new power supply unit for side by side comparison. Note: the OEM unit is also made in China. So far it is working without any problems, but I am not using this computer very much since it is old and slow.

power supply will fit a lot of towers, and I have seen some people complaining about the plugs, and there is one that looks different with an extra wire, so it is a longer plug, but it will plug into the mother board the same as the old one.

I had the fan in my old power supply start being really loud. I bought this as a replacement. It arrived quickly and was easy to install. After installing it, my computer would not boot. It lit up LED 3 and 4, meaning there is a RAM issue. I tried removing one stick at a time, and it still wouldn't boot. I finally put the old power supply back in and the computer booted right up.I ordered another power supply, assuming that I just got a defective one. The second one did the exact same thing.Thankfully my old power supply still works and is just annoying. I'm ordering from a different manufacturer now.

Installed with and running for several days with no issues

lots of other adds claiming compatibility with the D460AM-03 have the wrong connectors and cable lengths. this power supply fit properly and works correctly in my Dell Alienware R7.

The item was almost what I needed but the connections varied from what I needed. The shipping was awesome, package was in good condition and arrived without issue. It's just the connector was different.
