Palmetto 5000 Series Flexible Graphite Compression Packing Seal, Shiny Gray, 1/4" Square, 10' Length

This material works great and it was easy to install on my sailboat’s stuffing box. After looking up several online videos on how to repack the stuffing box, I decided to do it myself and it was easy. The Palmetto 5000 series stuffing box material worked perfect.

Ok I bought this for a strange reason, to use on my meat smoker to plug leaks. This works great and stays in place wedged into the cracks in my metal smoker. After I close the lid, I put it along the back edge and it seals it perfectly. Open the lid when I’m done and it falls out ready to be used the next time. Try it for sealing a smoker, works great!!! Other spots I pushed it into the the openings and it is permanent.

I used this to repair an old water pump on an antique car. This was the first time I ever attempted to repack a pump seal. I watched a few YouTube videos as well as asked a few old timers I know for a few tips.The install was easy, just removed the packing nut and the old packing. I put about three turns on the shaft and snugged up the packing nut. After running the engine a few times I did have to snug it again which is typical. Just keep snugging ( don’t over tighten) and it fixed my water leak.

Have an older house . Faucets leaked when on . Couldn't find the right packing washer . This fixed both my faucets .
