I really like the spring loaded functionality on this light stand.When you have heavy expensive lighting, the last thing you want is an insecure rig.This product feels solid and works a treat.

Good value for money. Nicely built and sturdy. Perfect for AD200’s and small to mid range modifiers.

I am an amateur photographer with home studio and my speciality is portrait photography. I have a huge collection of photography gear. I own several Neewer stands and accessories.This Neewer photography light Stand is a decent quality stand with plastic coated aluminium tubes and zinc coated fixing hence it would be rust proof. It is lightweight and easy to adjust height using knobs. Full height is 200cm and minimal height is 87cm. Tubes are spring loaded so it will provide a cushioning if you accidentally undo the knob without holding or taking off the strobe light.Neewer description states 22Ib weight can be supported by the stand but I think it is risky. I would not class it as heavy duty light stand. It is on the go stand and if you are using it as a off site such as weddings or field photography light stand then make sure either someone is holding it or weigh it down using sandbags. For studio, I would use it for smaller softbox and Speedlight Photography. Heavy studio strobe is a risk.Overall very decent quality lightweight photography stand but I believe price is bit higher than similar quality stands.

Very sturdy. This is literally the best tripod I have had.

The media could not be loaded. I have been looking out for a good quality tripod for a while so when this one came up from NEEWER I jumped at it and I'm so glad that I did.On opening, this unit has been beautifully made from a lightweight metal, I think aluminium, it is extremely sturdy and so easy to use.This device has a dual purpose fitment at the top which can hold collar type mounts such as lighting booms and it also has a screw thread for fixing camera type slide mounts on to. As can be seen in my photos this has four thumb screws to set up the tripod, the three legs can be positioned deep for extra height or low and wide for extra stability, the main upright has two extendable poles which allows this to reach up to around the seven foot height, as can be seen again in one of my photos at full height this is taller than the top of my door frames so will be great for stage lighting or for replicating the sun with downward shadows.As well as the photos I have included a short video that shows how the poles retract, each of the two extending poles has a soft close operation so they can be simply dropped after loosening the thumb screws and as the pole hits the bottom it is stopped using some sort of hydraulic damper that softens the close helping to prevent any damage, especially when there is a lot of weight at the top from lighting units.At the top of the tripod I have fitted my lighting boom, also ordered from NEEWER, should you want to take a look at the product it can be found here:- ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BZHHFT1B ), I have also reviewed that item which can be found using the following link:-( https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R1B5DFZF74FL0K/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0BZHHFT1B ),As you can see in my photos the lighting boom fits onto the collar of the tripod and is secured using a thumb screw and a large grub screw for extra security.This tripod has been produced with a lot of thought put into the design, everything from the build quality to the opening and closing of the tripod has been made in the best possible way. The entire unit can be easily carried as it is very light and folds to a relatively compact size, it would have been nice if this had come with a soft carry case but I'm sure that a universal type of bag could be purchased separately.All I need now are some adapters to fit my lighting to the collars of the top bar and I'm ready to take some great photos with correct lighting and effects thanks to the versatility of this unit.Overall, this is a superb tripod / lighting stage and can be used for a multitude of purposes including photography, video and lighting. The quality and the machining are exceptional, I particularly love the soft stops for the extension poles.I hope that this review, photos and video have been of some help and I can't recommend this enough, if your looking for a great easy to use and lightweight tripod then look no further.Recommended.

The NEWEER light stand hasn't failed to live up to expectations so far. It's been great for carrying around my diffuser lights for shoots. The construction of the product is great with no visible imperfections and no unwanted creaks or squeaks. My main irk is that the base of the product isn't very wide spread causing it to topple over with a slight bit of force - but this isn't a critical error. Highly recommend!
