Terrible! Read this and run a different direction
The media could not be loaded. I ordered this heater Jan 16, 2024. Arrival and install was on or about Jan 18, 2024.March 24, 2024 I go to feed my tank and notice the heat radiating out of it. Took the temp, 92F! I'd like to keep the tank 76-79F and it was set at 78. I turn the heater down to 76, add some fresh water and watch it. I had my grand babies for the weekend (19 months and 30 months- total adorable handfuls). The temp came down a bit (enough that the fish weren't cooking. I kind of got to busy to stress over it.Next morning I go to the tank and this peice of crap still says the tank is 79, but it reads in the 80s and it's set at 75. MY HOME IS SET AT 70F and the furnace is running because its chilly in here. No. The tank isn't over the heat vent (not that that would increase the temp that much at all. I video'd it, unplugged it and put in an old heater. This is the 3rd hygger heater that's failed on me in less than 3 months.. THIS YEAR! And it's only March! I'm so over it! So much money wasted!

Good, but not perfect
This 300W aquarium heater has quartz heating elements that are durable and won't deteriorate in water. The heating elements are covered by a plastic structure to help keep fish safe. I installed this heater in a 100 gallon fresh water aquarium and it is more than powerful enough to maintain the 78 degree temperature setting I needed. A only six-feet, the power cord could be longer so that it will reach across larger tank stands. This short power cord issue exists with nearly all aquarium equipment. The temperature controller has a digital display that is relatively easy to operate and allows the temperature to show in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. The accuracy is calibrated in degrees Celsius, so expect the temperature to drift past the Fahrenheit setting selected as each degree increment of Celsius is larger than a degree increment of Fahrenheit. This minor variation does not affect your fish. The controller "saves" the settings in case of a power failure, which is a must have feature on an aquarium heater. The heater also shuts off and freaks out (sound an alarm) if the water level gets too low or it is taken out while still plugged in.I can't comment on the over temperature safety feature as I don't have an aquarium that I am willing to subject to that kind of heat. I will say that instead of having a set 95 degree shutdown point, it would be better to allow this to be set as well, or have it self-set to a temperature 5 degrees about the desired temperature.

Best ever
This heater is fantastic, you don't have to worry about the tube breaking on the conventional heaters plus it has a digital readout to set the temp that you want to maintain. I've had it now for several weeks and it maintains the exact temp you have it set at.
