Arlo Essential outdoor Camera battery powered.
The camera is sturdy and very easy to set up through it’s app’ gives a very good field of view and has many features to use with the app’ has a clear image and can be set for sensitivity alert in use with an iPhone excellent value for a piece of mind.

Great Picture
Excellent clear picture but I had to You Tube how to set it up, as it didn't come with any instructions.Battery life is around a month, but you can keep track via the app. It takes around 2-3 hrs to fully charge.I would recommend this product.

Read the small print
Unable to use several of the functions. Installation easy enough. After purchase and installation I discovered I’m not able to purchase a plan because of where I live, so I’m not able to create a library of video activations, I can only view the last activation. And all I see is a freeze frame, sometimes I can see who came to the door, sometimes it’s missed them. The battery only lasts 7-10 days and takes 4-6 hours to recharge. Doorbell keeps losing connection to wifi. Arlo website is pretty poor for problem solving, mostly suitable for sales. Arlo support is even poorer. Customer service agents seem to be based in Europe, open a case for your problem but don’t get back to you with a resolution. After chasing I eventually received a response saying I’m not able to purchase a plan, and that the doorbell is probably trying to access a different channel on my wifi which is why I keep losing connection and what’s draining the battery, and left the onus on me to sort it out with my wifi provider.

Crystal imagine quality
This was relatively easy to install and set up. The doorbell and chime both have QR codes on the back which took ages to scan. I had to try multiple light sources and camera angles before it would work.I already have 7 ARLO cameras so connected the bell directly to a base station. The chime doesn’t have that option and must be connected to wifi.Picture quality is great as expected. My phone rings within a few seconds of the button being pressed.Overall very happy with the ARLO doorbell and chime.

Good in some ways, bad in others
This is now the third different brand camera I have tried in as many months around this price point and so far I’m thinking it’s not my last.Pros:- Easy to set up- connects to wifi about 8-10 metres away inside the house (the camera is on my garage)- picture and audio quality is good- no SD card required, still on free trial of cloud service, I don’t know the cost yet of a monthly subscription, if it’s less than £3 for a basic plan that’s fine- categorises detections by person, vehicle, animal and other and you can switch off notifications for the categories you don’t want. This isn’t an important feature to me but might be for some.- battery lasts up to a couple of weeks (beats the 4 days of the last brand I tried!)- can delete unwanted clips unlike some cameras- spotlight is reasonably bright- colour night vision is good quality- app interface is quite good, though not perfect.Cons- less ability to adjust settings than other brands, most clips are way too short (10-15 seconds) and finish before the event is finished, with other brands I could set this to specific time frames like 20, 30, 60 seconds. This is important in my case.- because of the above, the camera can be triggered again immediately if an event is ongoing leading to multiple clips and lots of notifications for essentially what is one event.- fails to detect motion every time. For example one morning it didn’t even catch my partner walking straight past it leaving the house, like it usually does.- way too many notifications! I get multiple notifications for ONE short event usually in quick succession so it sounds like my phone is going off constantly. Can drive you insane. You can mute them but this defeats the point of being alerted to activity. You can adjust motion detection sensitivity but that’s not what I want, I just want it to send one notification per event.Although it has quite a few plus points, the battery life and picture and audio quality being the main ones over some other brands, the negatives are significant enough that I am questioning whether I will keep this camera. I’m leaning towards returning it.

A good bit of kit - so far.
A good system which does what it says on the tin. Mine arrived with about 50% battery on them which was good to test.Battery charging wasn’t a clear process as you don’t see it charging except on the app, until the LED comes on that is, showing fully charged. The app is useful but you have to have a subscription. Reasonable enough as it’s not too expensive although don’t start your subscription until the free trial period ends as it will all be running at the same time. The system is really easy to install and does take pretty much five minutes. It is too soon to really give an in-depth review though as it has only been operational for a few weeks.

Its does the job no issues
After reviewing the doorbell cameras this one seemed to fit the bill for us, you do have to pay a subscription for the cloud which isn't too bad for one device. The camera works well, the image is good and the battery has been pretty good too. The app is great the only thing that does seem a bit of a palaver not sure if it is just my phone but when trying to answer the door on your phone (IOS) it seems to be automatically on mute so I have to unmute it.
