Could this really be the cure?
OK, I'm going to start this review with a disclaimer - I may just be posting this review far too soon, because I'm too excited about my new-found diet freedom! To give you some context, I'm 45, and had been suffering with gout on and off for about half my life (I was unfortunate to get it quite young). In the last 5 years or so, my flare ups had gradually become more frequent and lasted slightly longer. I have tried all sorts of diets, restricting the usual suspects like red meat, alcohol etc, taken anti inflammatory meds, gout meds, reduced sugar intake, dosed up on vitamin c etc etc. All of these attempts, whether in combination or in isolation, only ever reduced the likelihood of a repeat flare up, but (and this is the big but), I still had to eliminate red meat, alcohol and sugar or the gout symptoms would just reoccur within the next few days. Sugar was the biggest issue as its in everything these days and even certain veg and fruits could set it off.I had decided to see a private consultant, whose specialism was gout among other things, and he advised I try really hard to stick to the diet and increased water consumption or I'd simply have to accept my fate and embrace a lifelong commitment to allopurinol. I'll be honest, I hate taking medication - it's just more processed stuff my body has to deal with and so I was really determined not to falter in his challenge to stay gout free for 3 months. Although the 3 months did go without a major flare up, there were several occasions where a few too many slices of bread (packed with sugar) or the odd cheeky plum, would threaten my success.I had enough, it didn't seem to make much sense, and I was determined to figure out what could be the underlying cause. So I did what any curious person would do, I used my chat gpt account to research possible causes.Fast forward to about 6 weeks ago, and I manage to finally lock on to some scientifically backed information about a condition called "leaky gut" and everything suddenly made sense! Could it be that simple? Could it be that my microbiome was in tatters and I was in a state of dysbyosis? I'm going to be honest here and confess I'm a little biased when it comes to treatment. Natural is always going to get my vote over manufactured nasties.I spent far more time than I'll want to admit conversing work the AI agent, but I finally landed on a set of strains of friendly bacteria that are implicated in leaky gut and after searching for a probiotic that had the suggested strains in roughly the right proportions and with the bonus of inulin, I found this product.I was so excited but apprehensive, desperate for this to work.Fast-forward another 6 weeks, pigs in blankets, bacon, ham sandwiches, chocolates galore and all the sweets I care to eat, and touch wood, not a flare up in sight! I want this to continue as the high if being cured is, in its own right, a mega outcome. The fact I've survived Christmas and all the associated treats and even 2/3 of a bottle of wine, is a crazy feeling.I'll be continuing to take the probiotic and will update you all in 3 months.I'm not suggesting anyone take my findings as a replacement to a medical doctor's advice. I'm just a stubborn man who couldn't stand the idea of taking medication for the rest of my life. There is so much material out there now that seems to point fingers at the gut and it's impact on one's health, it just feels right 😎

Excellent probiotic
Had sibo, started the L reuteri yoghurt protocol, while feeling better, started to take sauerkraut and this very probiotic. I have to say I feel pretty much normal now. Still not out the woods but it's a far cry from where I was only 3 months ago. Will continue to get beneficial bacteria through food and probiotic formulas. This one has all the best strains and at a very good price. Pre sibo I wouldn't have been able to tolerate any probiotics but this particular one from Raibu stood out for me as it had all the relevant lactobacillus strains and bifidobacterium strains that are specific to my dysbiosis issues.
