So important for badge reels. I pull on mine all the time, so I need something that can hold up. I've been using this for half a year and no problems. If I had been using the ones my employer provides, I'd probably be on my fifth or sixth. I like that it has both a hasp and a clip, although the clip needs to be tightened periodically, or else the whole thing pulls off when you pull on your keys and becomes a tethered projectile and this thing is solidly built so it can do some damage. I also love the gun metal color. It's kind of bad ass.

I've owned multiple retractable keychains that had something other than a thin cable as part of their construction. They've all broken and been thrown away. Yes you'll pay a little more for an item like this, but it's a far superior quality product that you'll have for years and years and never regret paying a little bit more for. Remember, poor quality leads to a poor quality of life. Pay the extra for things that last.

The shell is very robust and durable. You can’t beat its durability. The reel isn’t as smooth and some of the other reviews mention that as well. It’s somewhat gritty when pulled.It’s EXTREMELY bulky and heavy. Think of a carabiner with retractable string below it.The string isn’t as long as I’d expect but it’s long enough for me to reach the card reader from my waist.The clip and hook are both metal so expect them to outlast the badge holder.

Very heavy duty. I haven't. Broke it yet and I pull, smack and drag it on everything being I work construction. Great value. Pi

These are noticably more durable than the plastic version I had been buying, which would frequently get caught on things and snap the cord. That's not to say it's impossible with these, but so far I haven't had the same issue, and plan to continue to buy these instead when needed

I really like these clips. You can use them for anything a name badge or car keys. You clip them to your shirt or pants or even a purse it's a good way to not loose something. It wouldn't work on something really heavy but lighter objects work well. The string is pretty sturdy and doesn't break easily. The price is very reasonable. You won't be disappointed.

These are exactly what I needed! I use my badge a lot so I needed something with a strong "line" and this delivers! It hasn't started to slack and it holds the multiple badges (and keys) i need wear perfectly!
