It certainly did the job. Its basic but value for money. One thing to know - you need to start it at the time you want it to run eg. I wanted it to run at 6am and 6pm so had to start it at 6. Multiple choices of times etc. Once you've deciphered the instructions it's easy to set up.

Not suitable for water butts - only works on mains pressure
Although visually identical to other brands of timer (eg Kingfisher and copycats), this timer will only work on mains pressure. The enclosed manual says that it should work on pressure from 0psi to 80psi, but after experimenting with two different timers, it's clear that unless you connect to the mains, only a tiny dribble of water will come out. Without disassembling the unit I can't say way this is, but it's definitely the case, unless I've been sent two faulty units, which seems unlikely.The Kingfisher units I have work perfectly on all my waterbutts, from 100 litres to 300 litres.The build quality etc seem OK for the price, just a shame they're of no use to me.

Just what I wanted for the garden
The timer works well and provides sufficient variations on duration and how often you would like it to switch on /off.Ease of use I marked down by 1 star because the instructions that come in the box are not clear. The best way to understand how the unit works is to put in the batteries and have a 'free play' with the two controls on the front and take note of the red LED light indications when you make your selection.I used a little PTFE tape on the tap when screwing the unit to it to ensure there was no leaking.I am very happy with the timer since it has saved time having to water the garden with the hose but also knowing that when were away for a few days the pots still got watered.

Didn't work
Straight from the box it didn't work. Could hear the valve open but nothing. I needed this urgently to water my plants whilst im on hols so had to buy a more expensive one from a main store.. Not the fault of the dealer as how could they know but sending back was easy. From other reviews it looks like i just got a dud . I will probably try another one in a few weeks.

having problems with getting it working, I have had these before so I know how to set it up. problem is I am away tomorrow so not enough time to return it. will have another go when I get back!
