Better, and Cheaper than Drill Doctor
I bought this on a flyer just to see how good it worked. It worked great! I have a Drill Doctor (maybe 4-5 years old), and ya have to fiddle with it to get it just right. It's twice as expensive as this machine, and not any more effective. This one is so simple to use. Just place the bit into the appropriate hole, and sharpen. You may have to twist it a shade one way of the other, and you'll easily "feel" the contact. Easy-peasy. Highly recommended.

confusing point angle compatibility, is it 135°, 118°, or actually 130° ?
Seems to be some confusion on what size drill bits this accepts. The product description says 130° bit size, but the manual seems to imply that this sharpener is for 118° bit size. Most of my bits are 135°. I believe the standard sizes are 118 and 135, so not sure where the 130° is coming from.Assuming it's actually a 118° as listed in the manual, I think you can technically sharpen a 135° to 118° with enough grinding, but also depends on weather you have split point tips or not. I'd recommend this sharpener for the most basic of setups, but if you have a big assortment of bits probably worth it to get something a little more robust.

Easy to use, quick results!
Hey, I'm as surprised as you! I thought drill bit sharpening was an art of the gods, but my vast array of super dull drill bits came back to life after a quick trip to this bit grinder. Did it put the kind of edge on the bit that lasts? That remains to be seen, but the bits are acting "brand new" for the time being. It's a quiet process, minimal vibration, and the rubber feet would dampen out any movement if there was any. It's got a power switch easily accessed, so you can leave it plugged-in on your bench for the duration. There does appear to be a source for replacing the stone inside when the time comes, so that worry is gone.

Gets the job done
I’ve never used a drill bit sharpener before but the concept is pretty simple and I’ve got plenty of dull drill bits so I decided to give this sharpener a try. It is pretty easy to use. Find the right hole for the bit you want to sharpen. Push it in and twist until it starts to grind. Turn it 180 degrees and sharpen the second edge. I tested it on several bits and am pleased with how it improved the performance the drill bits. The holes were cut cleaner and the bit went in easier. It really made a difference on the bits I sharpened. I’m sure there are better drill bit sharpeners out there but this one works fine for me.

didn't work as advertised
the raising and lowering of the grinding surface did not operate as instructed. had to hand press down on drill bit to engage the grinding.
