Reliable, Start to Finish
These came in a box and packaging designed for drives. IF resistant tape, and IF resistant foil and foam liners. The four 6tb drives I ordered came spaced equally in the middle of this packaging, and delivered with no marks or issues at all. This was a very good sign. While I currently have to wait for the proper cables to show up (unrelated issue I'm having...), and can't say how they work in practice, I have dealt with these drives, in different sizes, before and can say they're about what you'd expect. Quick as an HDD can be, reliable as far as my experience goes, and well priced. I'll update this review if when I have them all spun up I find any issues, but to this point I sincerely doubt.Edit after several months of continual use: these drives all cleared with zero issues. Two are running nearly 24/7 and are staying cool with zero errors. I'm quite pleased with these drives and will buy 4 more when the time comes to expand my server.

Good value for the cost
I built a second NAS to offload "cold storage" from my primary NAS (a FreeNAS box with a LOT of storage, but I was running low). I tossed these in a Synology DS1817 and they're just as quick as any of the other in the line. No bad drives in the batch. It's strange to have all 5400 RPM drives in my FreeNAS and 7200RPM in my Synology backup NAS - definitely can tell the difference when these spin up. :)So far they've been running without fault for over a year. They're the Duke of New York, A Number One!Note - I went with the DS1817 over one of the beefier ones mainly for a slightly lower cost but with dual 10 Gigabit copper, with an aggregate link on my Unifi switch, and dual 10 Gigabit fiber SFP+ on my FreeNAS, I effectively have ~20gbit transfer speeds between the NASes. I'm unsure if the DS1817 is bottlenecking my transfer speeds in any way.

Bad drive...refurbished and resold
**UPDATE: Seagate did not honor the warranty! They returned the drive to me stating that it looked like it was opened and repaired. This is NOT a new drive and Seagate will not cover it if it crashes. This seller should be pulled as I did not see anything stating this was a refurbed/used drive. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER.**Installed in a synology NAS and it formatted and initialized. Got it assigned to a storage pool and the data got setup on it (hybrid RAID with 4 drives). Got an odd message from my NAS with an error message. Ran an IronWolf test and SMART test and all was healthy. Day 2 the drive starting crashing and throwing I/O errors. Ran a few more tests and it stated not healthy. Deactivated the disk and reached out to Seagate. They are honoring the purchase but was informed that AO Mall was not an auth dealer. So…be sure to watch who is selling the drive. Again, SG still honored it and are sending me a replacement drive.

Great performance, but loud
Bought four of these for a new NAS setup, and they've been performing great for almost three years now. The only downside is they can be a bit loud compared to other drives I have. Seeking makes a sort of "clacking" noise, which is audible from my bedroom closet where they live. Good price and performance, but be aware of the noise they can make.

Performs as Expected
I have two of these in two different machines as junk storage drives. I also have 2 8tb's in my NAS. Work great, solid drives, the 8's have been spinning nonstop for over 18 months an so far, so good. I like IronWolf drives, use them at work too, none better in my opinion. Definitely get the 256 Cache models in an SSD world or you will complain about access time.

Perfect HD for NAS
Got this HD after exchanging one from another brand that arrived defective. Possibly due to poor packaging. This one was swap with a defective one in my NAS with no hiccups.

Awesome
I have had many Seagate products. When I decided to get a NAS, this is the drive that many IT professionals recommend. I did additional research. The Seagate IronWolf NAS drives perform well and at a better price point over their competitor.
