Lamy Germany 12 Vista Transparent Fine Fountain Pen

I wasn't comfortable spending 2000 rupees on a pen. However I bought it and there's no regret. Moving from a 300 rupees Parker vector, this pen easily is much better. The ink flow is super. The build quality is excellent, and it looks very good in hand. The smoothness of this pen is comparable to pilot v7. However, since this pen comes with ink converter, this pen is much more economical. Easily five stars.

I have actually had another lamy safari in fine nib as well as medium nib and I decided to order a lamy vista in fine this time but the nib on the vista is EXTREMELY scratchy compared to both of my other safaris! I recommend buying a medium nib because the chances of it being smooth is much higher.

It's essentially a transparent Lamy Safari. The fine nib is the same as a medium nib on Japanese pens like Pilot Metropolitan so you may want to select the nib size accordingly.

I have owned Parker, Mont Blanc, and Pierre Cardin fountain pens before this, and Lamy Safari is the smoothest pen you will find at this price! In fact, I have stopped using other pens since I have bought this! Not only is it buttery to write (don't be afraid if you are a fast-writer), the ink flow is consistent. Another important feature is the ergonomic grip, which makes it a joy to hold and use. The weight is just right, even a bit light, if you will, but all these things are probably aimed at making long writing sessions possible without strain on the fingers or the wrist. The piston ink-holder hold more ink than those of other brands. Be sure to check the size of the nib before you buy, as some people don't like very fine nibs.Since this is a transparent pen, it looks very offbeat and often turns heads. But you will need to clean it at least once every few months, as it tends to get dirty, especially inside the cap. Users might find it difficult to close the cap if the ink gets accumulated inside. A warm-water dip of the pen components will work well, in this case.

The pen is smooth given that. The pen is also very good to handle too.Tested with J. Herbin Blue black ink.But even for the fine nib it have a inkflow of a medium nib. This tends to blot on some paper unless you have a very high quality paper. Not able to decide to keep it or return.The pen works super when you use it as a dip pen.

A lovely pen to write with - smooth as hell, nicely weighted but not too heavy, comfortable to grip and just very nice and clean looking.I wish the nib was a little finer as this gives out more ink-flow than I'd like, but perhaps for someone with larger writing or who prefers a healthy flow and thicker lines, it's a great pen!

It seems that the pen is very old. It had scratch marks all over.
